About Hollowponds (Peter)
Hello, I am Peter, a professional Game Master and storyteller with more than thirty years of experience in tabletop roleplaying. I focus on clear structure, steady pacing, and story driven play that gives every player room to shine. Through my work on Hollowponds Solo Sagas, and as a published game author whose works include Single Player Mode for R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk Red and several roleplaying tools and guides, I have developed a consistent style that blends character focused storytelling with solid rules support. My tables are welcoming, organised, and calm, with guidance for new players and space for experienced players to push the story forward. What you can expect from my games: • Smooth pacing and clear communication • A friendly relaxed atmosphere • Fair challenges that respect player agency • Strong story focus supported by the system • Reliable scheduling and preparation About me: I have worked as a teacher, a developer, and a Scrum Master, all of which help me run focused and respectful sessions. I am a trained Mental Health First Aider and pay close attention to accessibility and the needs of neurodiverse players. My goal is always to create a table where everyone feels able to contribute. I run a range of systems including Daggerheart, Cyberpunk Red, Coriolis, Dragonbane, Savage Worlds, and more, and I tailor each session to the tone and pace the group enjoys. You are welcome to see how I run games here: https://www.youtube.com/@HollowpondsSoloSagas

I got started GMing...
I’ve been GMing since the late 80s. I like facilitating and helping people tell shared stories, which led me behind the screen, and it gives me that servant leader feeling they talk about, along with plenty of characters to play and voices to do.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I run a fairly successful YouTube channel and write for DriveThruRPG (Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode, plus more). I came 3rd in a bodybuilding comp, did stand-up, and I’ve been a school teacher, engineering consultant, backend dev, and Scrum Master. Oh, and I have ADHD 🙂
When I'm not running games I'm...
Filming and editing for my solo play YouTube channel, writing for DriveThruRPG (I co-wrote Cyberpunk RED: Single Player Mode with R. Talsorian Games), then the gym to lift heavy things and put them down. You know, trying to get by.
How Hollowponds (Peter) runs games
My games are story first, with a steady pace and a clear structure that keeps everyone involved. I enjoy strong character moments, meaningful choices, and scenes that feel cinematic without slowing the table down. Players can expect a friendly atmosphere where roleplay is encouraged, rules are explained clearly, and no one is pressured to perform. I run combat that feels purposeful rather than endless. Encounters are tactical enough to be exciting, but not so complex that they drag or overshadow the story. I focus on tension, consequences, and giving players options that matter. I welcome both new and experienced players. I support people who are anxious, returning to the hobby, or neurodiverse, and I always make sure there is space for everyone to contribute. My goal is for players to finish a session feeling that the story moved forward, their characters made real choices, and the table felt respectful and enjoyable. If you like games with strong narrative momentum, fair challenges, and a relaxed but well prepared GM, you will fit in well at my table.

My games focus on...
a shared story we can all be a part of.
When it comes to voices
Most of mine tend to be Northern, but I do a few others too. I really need to work on some accents that aren’t UK-based. 😄
Hollowponds (Peter)'s ideal table
You don’t have to be an actor or a voice expert. You don’t have to stay in character. You don’t have to know the rules or get everything right. What I do like is when you stay connected to what’s going on. You don’t tune out just because it’s “not your go”. You’re willing to hear other people’s ideas, and let us hear yours. You understand “yes, and…” and try to avoid “no, but…”. The vibe is: let’s make a 90s TV series or a great film together, whether that’s action, drama, intrigue, or comedy. Give everyone at the table the benefit of the doubt and the space to be themselves, and expect the same in return. Come to the table with the vibe to create.

My table is not the place for...
arguing about rules or real world situations. We are here to create a shared story in a shared world and escape the madness outside.
