About GMGodEmperorDude
Utilizing 20 years of experience as a "Forever DM" supported by a long career as a working musician and entertainer, I try to give my games an immersive, cinematic flavor. To achieve this, I use Talespire VTT (no purchase necessary) for its camera capabilities, music, lighting effects, and ambient sounds. I use voices as well, but I wouldn't dare call myself a voice actor. I'm just that annoying guy you knew in high school who did cartoon voices.

I got started GMing...
the same way every GM does: Being the only guy who was willing to do it. I grew to love it, and have been doing it for roughly 20 years now.
My favorite shows/movies are
The Departed, LOTRO, Galaxy Express 999, anything by Tarantino, Coen Brothers, or PTA. Musicals, MST3K, 3rd Rock from The Sun, Berzerk, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Castlevania, MCU (even at its worst)... I have no life. This list is endless.

How GMGodEmperorDude runs games
You are stepping into a living, breathing world! My approach to game style and tone shifts (sometimes massively) depending on the personalities and preferences of each group, what the player's characters are doing, and the kind of story we're telling. I try to maintain a sense of verisimilitude in my settings, which provides opportunities to tell everything from hopeful stories of triumph to deeply cynical stories of merely holding on for one more day. Of course, there's plenty of room for whimsical romps in between! My story arcs usually run the length of an adventure (roughly 5 sessions), with a major story playing out in the setting regardless of player engagement. Examples include the rapid expansion of an empire, a group of wizards tampering with something they can't control, a 1000 year plot nearing completion. You get the point. Most of my other long arcs revolve around character development. My little pipedream once we've collected enough (consistent) players is to host an event every 6 months or so with live entertainment and snacks. Lots of snacks. Anywho, I use TaleSpire for most of my visual aid, supporting it with artwork I either commission, or make myself and touch up editing software. I try to maintain a strong, aesthetic identity with any visual aid I use.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
John Milius (Conan, The Barbarian), John Boorman (Excalibur), and Francis Ford Coppola (c'mon) collaborating with the written works of Ryo Mizuno (Record of Lodoss War), with the world building being done by Hironobu Sakaguchi (lead writer for many Final Fantasy games) and the Hickmans (Dragonlance)
I once ran a session...
I still do, but I once ran one too. BOOM! I'll be here all night.
My games focus on...
1. Fun 2. Engagement 3. Immersion
GMGodEmperorDude's ideal table
I strive to provide an atmosphere that allows my players to be comfortable with being themselves. I thrive on player engagement, and I feel like it's my responsibility as a GM to "read the room" and make it work. For my live games, I treat it like hosting a party, and the GM is the MC.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
A living setting where you could be playing through the ripple of a wave another player made from the other side of the world while you make waves of your own. Where you could find the weapon of a dead player character on the ground months after the battle they died in.
I love it when a player
comes up with a creative solution that takes the scene or encounter in a direction we as GMs didn't see coming. That's the kind of stuff we write short stories on our server about.
My table is not the place for...
Bullying other players. That's about it. I personally have no content restraints. I merely ask that we all establish boundaries at session 0 and respect the boundaries of your fellow players.
