About Brian
Hi, I’m Brian! I’ve been running TTRPGs for about five years, mostly as a D&D 5e Dungeon Master with three campaigns and plenty of one-shots behind me. I enjoy welcoming new players, helping them find their footing, and making sure everyone has a great time at the table. I have experience with VTTs and map software, but I believe the most accessible and memorable games come from theatre of the mind. I use vivid description and imagination to bring the world to life. Maps and tokens can be useful, but I focus on painting scenes with words so players can step into the story without barriers. I also enjoy running other systems such as Pendragon, Monster of the Week, and some of Grant Howitt’s one-page RPGs. I’m always excited to learn and run new games too, and I already have The One Ring and Pathfinder on my shelf waiting for their turn at the table. My style leans toward collaborative storytelling, cinematic moments, and keeping the rules smooth so the narrative shines. Whether you want a full campaign, a quick one-shot, or a chance to try out a new system, I’ll bring the energy, structure, and flexibility to make it fun. Let’s roll some dice and see where the story takes us!

I got started GMing...
I started running games around 2019 introducting some work friends to tabletop games, I had previously been a player in a handful of games but took the leap into being "Forever GM" to get games of the ground and haven't looked back.
My favorite books are
Mostly graphic novels (Such as V for Vendetta and Watchmen), but I also enjoy mysterys of many kinds, be them Lovecraft, Sir Conan Doyle or even the futuristic short stories of Isaac Asimov.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Splitting my time between being a dad and working in data science. When I get the chance I try to go to as many music or comedy gigs as possible, especially D&D live shows. I almost always have a real play podcast of one kind or another on while dealing with the mundane hours of my job.
How Brian runs games
I welcome and encourage roleplay, knowing that it can be difficult to get into but as a core pillar of table top gaming, it opens up a world of possibilities for players and the world they are in. I like to build tension with combat, not every fight can have a satisfying concussion but that only goes to make the important wins even sweeter for the victors. The most important part for me is the world the players are in, if it feels alive and encapsulating, without being overwhelming, then every action has more weight, whether that means that means total derailment or skipping past other treads and hooks in the name of agency, the story made at our table will have more flavour and depth for it.
