About FinalBossAshley

Hey y'all, I'm Ashley, a LGBTQ+ Game Master who's been running TTRPGs for over a decade. I run D&D 5e, Fabula Ultima, Mothership, and pretty much anything else my table wants to try. My recent fixation has been on the Boundless system!

How FinalBossAshley runs games

I run collaborative, improv-heavy campaigns with a focus on pacing and atmosphere. I work well with larger groups and make sure everyone's character gets woven into the story, not just along for the ride. My NPCs tend to stick with people - for better or worse. ;-)

I deal with rules issues by...

Making a fair call within the game in order to keep the story and pace moving. Then, if the rules need to be addressed in further detail for future sessions, I take the time to resolve the in-between. The important thing is that rules should help not hinder the experience.

I once ran a session...

For about 8+ hours. It was some of the most fun I've ever had with a group I'm proud to call my friends. Seeing everyone so invested in the story and their characters really sealed the deal for my love of tabletop.

My favorite trope is...

The noble with a chip on her shoulder (aka mommy issues)

FinalBossAshley's ideal table

I like a table that brings creative or eccentric character ideas and wants to get invested in the world. I'm comfortable running for total newcomers as well as long-time players, and I'm happy to help anyone learn the rules. Tone-wise, I go wherever the story takes us, be it comedy, horror, drama, sometimes all in one session!

I love it when a player

Includes other players into their roleplay. My job as GM is to set up these moments for players to meld together in the story, but when a player does that job for me, it engages me on another level.

I think min/maxing...

It can be fun with the right group and the right game. However, there is always that little worry of outshining a player mechanically if not everyone is on the same page. Those who choose flavor over numbers are my biggest fans.
