About Spencer Jones
I began playing TTRPG's with games like 3.5 D&D and 1st Edition Pathfinder when I was around 13. This sparked a passion for table top games that I brought into my adult life. I even met my wife at the local community college playing Malifaux: Through the Breach. I've gone on to get a degree in Game Design and have been GMing a variety of systems for roughly 8 years now.

How Spencer Jones runs games
🎭 Roleplay: Narrative is at the forefront of my games. At my heart I am a storyteller and love to see players interact with the worlds I run. In this sense I’d say I am roleplay heavy. 🗡️ Combat: I run a vast number of games that each have their own take on combat systems. I often try to make the combats I run serve the overall story in some way. Not all combat will be fair, but in order to have fun I always give my party plenty of clues ahead of time to warn if a combat encounter may be too much for them. 🦎 Adaptive: I tailor a lot of my DM style specifically to the people who are playing at any given table. I use session zeroes to help facilitate learning about my players wants and desires to build a game experience they will all enjoy. I love tables that have a mix of desired playstyles. It allows for good variety. 🆕 I am practiced with teaching all kinds of systems to new players and old. ✍️ I love seeing what character concepts players create. 🌎 Worldbuilding is a passion of mine. Every character makes an impact. 🤝 Games are about community. Players share the table. 🦺 Everyone is welcome and safe at my table.

My games focus on...
Story first and mechanics second.
Rules are...
Meant to facilitate fun. If the rule gets in the way of the whole tables fun then it can be changed to better suit the group.
Spencer Jones's ideal table
I like for my players to be respectful of each others play styles. I tend to enjoy a more narrative game, but try to balance it with good combat that ties into the story. I also try to let each player leave their mark on the worldbuilding in one way or another.

My table is not the place for...
bigotry or disrespect. There is a clear line between making jokes and hurting peoples feelings. While no one is perfect, and people are bound to say things that offend each other from time to time, my table is meant to be a safe place for everyone. Overt bigotry or disrespect will not be tolerated.
