About Chance|@FallingDie
Hello!! I have been GMing since I was a sophomore in high school and it is my greatest passion to run these games! More recently I've become a game master at an Escape Room company, but table top is my home and I really want to get to spend my time writing and running these games! I genuinely can't stop thinking about running games and I'd love to sit and nerd out about character concepts and story ideas for as long as I have mind and means to speak. I've run a level 1-20 DnD game as well as a bunch of other shorter dips into other sessions. Currently I've been really enjoying homebrewing Genesys and learning Mythic Bastionland. I'd love for you to join me in exploring any world we can find meaning in together! c:

I started running games because...
I was dissatisfied with the ending of the first game I played in. I think premature endings are so disappointing and I wanted to try my hardest to provide a completed story for my players.
My favorite system of all Time is
Genesys! The generic system for EoE SWRPG. It’s a bit old and so it doesn’t get much love these days but I find its character creation system, as well as the narrative dice system to be so deeply engaging. I really really love that game and would run it for everything if the interest was there.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I’ve run a full level 1-20 D&D campaign that ran over five years
How Chance|@FallingDie runs games
I like to create a large and lived in world with winding rabbit holes and factions of foes and friends alike competing for an outcome that you have a stake and maybe even a say in. I love rewarding player agency and feeding the goals/desires of the people at the table, while also having an opportunity to relish in the things that I find to be so special about whatever setting or game style we might be exploring together.

I deal with rules issues by...
asking my players what they think is fair. TTRPG is meant to be collaborative, and if the players aren’t having fun, what’s the point? That being said I try to appeal to the rules as an unbiased way to resolve issues in game, but if the rules don’t enable good storytelling they ought be edited.
I prep by
reviewing my players plot threads and finding ways to tie that into the themes of the game. I work on creating dilemmas for my players to work out in an open ended way. I seek the drama in the narrative, and pull those threads and bring the conflict to the forefront, with moments of Rest between.
When it comes to voices
I love to try and pull out new voices and accents. I’ve been practicing vocals for years and it’s one of the most fun and expressive ways to make a character feel real and memorable.
Chance|@FallingDie's ideal table
I prefer players who love their characters. It is my greatest joy to help people bring characters to life and tell stories that do those characters justice. I always keep an open channel of communication by talking and planning with my players between sessions. I like players who aren’t afraid to make their voices heard and their ideas made meaningful.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Character writing, player first GMing, rich worlds and stories, trying new systems, or having a GM that wants you to feel seen
I love it when a player
breaks my expectations for a story. I often try to predict where I expect a story to go, and the best feeling in the world is when, in a single moment, a player takes that world by the reins and completely shifts the tide through thoughtful decision making.
I think metagaming...
Is an interesting balance to strike. To act like we as RPG players don’t know the tropes or themes that might be present in a story is folly. To not use the rules to our advantage can be unfun. That being said when the meta is used to make narratively illogical choices for optimizing, it’s unfair.
