Paizo Raising Pathfinder/Starfinder Prices, Changing To Eco PackagingÂ
Inflation and rising shipping costs are coming for us all, and Pathfinder/Starfinder publisher Paizo is no exception. The company announced this week that it must raise prices on several products in order to meet increased production costs. Affected products will be PDF products like Bounties, Quests, and Scenarios as well as physical accessories such as Flip-Mats and hardcover books. PDFs will go up in price on October 25, while physical products will start getting new price tags in April 2024.Â
Some good news to come from this update is that Paizo is changing its printing process to include FSC-certified paper, which is ecologically sourced from sustainable forests. Packaging for shipped orders has also been updated to swap packing peanuts and foam for cardboard.Â
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1985 TTRPG Returning
The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness TTRPG from 1985 is going back to print, if Kickstarter backers have anything to say about it. Palladium Books revealed that it is teaming up with TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman to remaster the original game and its sourcebooks as two deluxe hardcovers. The remaster will include a new painted cover, new interior artwork, and behind-the-scenes content. The Kickstarter campaign is set to launch on October 31, 2023, with extras including miniatures, dice sets, art prints, and more.Â
Evil Hat’s Deathmatch Island Brings Battle Royale To Tabletop
Remember a few years ago when Fortnite was huge and every video game had battle royale? Or less years ago when Squid Game was all the rage? Well Evil Hat is bringing the conspiratorial battle royale genre to TTRPGs in Deathmatch Island. The latest BackerKit project from the people behind Monster of the Week and Blades in the Dark puts players on an island with matching uniforms and a distinct lack of memories. They are put against each other in a battle royale reality show game, but there is something sinister behind the scenes. The BackerKit campaign is live now, and runs until Nov 14.
That brings an exciting batch of news to an end! Lots of interesting games coming out in the next few months. Will D&D’s dominance finally be challenged, or are some games meant to fade into (Candela) obscurity? Whatever the future holds, you can try new games with professional GMs on StartPlaying!Â
