About the adventure
Saltmarsh's shipping lanes have become a graveyard of splintered hulls and lost lives. With trade routes severed and supplies dwindling, the town council has placed its last hope and its last gold on your crew to eliminate the kraken terrorizing their waters. This is a single-session, combat-focused adventure. Bring your best tactics, your strongest abilities, and your appetite for a legendary battle from start to finish. The kraken has never lost a fight. The council has never paid a bounty. Both records are about to break. Level: 13 Gear Points: 32 Theme/Setting: Ghosts of Saltmarsh

About me
I'm a GM, teacher, and improv nerd who runs collaborative, character-driven games. I believe the best RPG stories are forged by the whole table, not written by one person. My background in teaching and improv helps me craft worlds full of heart and humor where your choices truly matter. My goal is to create a fun, inclusive space where we can build something truly epic together.

Creating your character
PLATFORM & SOURCES: All characters are to be created in D&D Beyond. You have access to my full library, which includes all official Wizards of the Coast books and available third-party content. Please, no homebrew or other material without prior discussion and approval. ABILITY SCORES & LEVEL: Use either the Point Buy or Standard Array method for your ability scores. Characters will begin at the level specified in the game description. GEAR AND MAGIC ITEMS: Your character begins with their standard class and background equipment. You may acquire additional gear and magic items using the Gear Points granted in your game description, based on the following cost: - Common: 1 point - Uncommon: 4 points - Rare: 9 points - Very Rare: 16 points - Legendary: 25 points - Artifact: 36 points Note: Magic items acquired through class features (such as an Artificer's Replicate Magic Item ability) cost half their normal point value, rounded down. ENCOUNTER QUESTIONS: Depending on when you join, you will be able to ask a set number of yes-or-no questions about the boss encounter. This intelligence is meant to help you build or adapt your character to survive the coming battle. Please see the Homebrew Rules section for full details.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Please create all characters in D&D Beyond. A link will be provided prior to the session. If you don't have an account, creating one is free and quick. By joining, you'll gain full access to my D&D Beyond library, including all official books and third-party content. We will use the D&D Beyond character sheets and the integrated Maps VTT for rolling and gameplay. We will use Discord for voice chat. A server invite will be sent beforehand. Please ensure you have: - A stable internet connection. - A working microphone. - Headphones (to prevent echo). - Webcam (highly recommended but optional) All dice rolls must be made through D&D Beyond and set to public for everyone to see.
What Drew DiSario brings to the table
LIMITLESS OPTIONS: Build your character from my full D&D Beyond library, featuring every official book and third-party source available. INTEGRATED PLAY: Use digital character sheets fully synced with the Maps VTT for seamless dice rolls and tactical combat. PREMIUM AUDIO: Experience the game through a boosted Discord server with professional audio equipment, immersive music/ambiance from Kenku FM, and real-time voice modulation for NPCs.
Homebrew rules
GEAR POINTS: Characters begin with standard class and background equipment. All additional gear and magic items are purchased using Gear Points. Please see the Character Creation section for full details. ENCOUNTER QUESTIONS: After joining, you may ask one "yes-or-no" question about the upcoming encounter. You gain one extra question for each player who joins after you. If the game fills, all players receive one bonus question. POTIONS OF HEALING: Drinking a potion yourself is a Bonus Action (roll the dice) or a Full Action for maximum healing. Administering a potion to an unconscious ally is always an Action and uses the rolled value. INSPIRATION: When you spend Inspiration, you may reroll any d20 after seeing the result. You then choose which of the two rolls to use. RULE OF COOL: Creative and narrative-driven ideas are always encouraged. If the rules don't clearly cover your ingenious plan, I'll make a fair, fast ruling to keep the game moving and fun.
