Battle Royale
"Battle Royale" traditionally refers to a fight not limited to two combatants, but since the release of the dystopian novel and film of the same name, it's come to refer to a genre of fiction in which a large group of people participate in a free-for-all fight, often to the death. The surging popularity of media like The Hunger Games, Squid Game, and Fortnite has led to a number of tabletop roleplaying games inspired by the battle royale genre, some of which have players work as a team, and others which pit them against each other in a brutal, no-holds-barred deathmatch! Battle royale RPGs are growing in number and popularity.
