About the adventure

North of the Spine of the World and beneath the unyielding night sky, you stand before a towering glacier and recite an ancient rhyme, causing a crack to form in the great wall of ice. This icy land of windswept tundra recently became locked in a perpetual, dark winter without reprieve. Beyond this yawning fissure, the Caves of Hunger await. And past this icy dungeon is a secret so old and terrifying that few dare speak of it. The mad wizards of the Arcane Brotherhood long to possess that which the god of winter’s wrath has so coldly preserved—as do you! What fantastic secrets and treasures are entombed in the sunless heart of the glacier, and what will their discovery mean for the denizens of Icewind Dale? Can you save Ten-Towns from the Frostmaiden’s everlasting night? This campaign runs from level 1 all the way to level 12

About me

🎶 Hello adventurers! Stay a while and listen as we embark on a fantastic journey! 🎶 You can call me Mashby. I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons since 2e when I was a teenager. My favorite system was definitely 3.5e and my longest running game has been in 5e. Previously I've worked as an animator and production designer, and now I am an experience designer specializing in gamified learning. New players and folx with marginalized identities will find a safe space at my table, for it is my firm belief that all people deserve to create and have their stories heard. Collaborative storytelling is the portal through which we can explore the deepest dungeons and the furthest stars together.

I feel comfortable with Mashby to roleplay how I want to roleplay. Even if it's weird or unusual.

Mashby has an incredible knack for making a group of strangers feel like friends you’ve known for years. The Campaigns they run are always ripe with opportunities for player characters to have a direct and meaningful impact on the outcome of any given scenario. 10/10 would recommend.

It’s an utter joy to have Mashby lead our D&D sessions. They’re funny, clever, and will keep you on your toes. The community members in Mashby’s Discord channel are also a wonderful bunch <3

Mashby has been awesome! They are open to questions, which has been great as a new player, and were willing to dive deeper when building a character with me. They know their stuff and seem to have a lot of resources to draw from. I've enjoyed playing each session with them!

Safety
How GM Mashby creates a safe table

Survival Horror Body Horror Psychological Horror We will go over safety tools and consent in Session 0. I regularly check-in with my players and tailor the adventures to meet their needs and ensure everyone has an amazing experience. A typical session will be everyone joining the Discord voice channel, and then joining the Foundry VTT link a few minutes before the start to load the map and have some time for social chat. After everyone is situated and ready to go then we will jump right into the game. Exploration and Roleplay will be large portions of the game as well as Combat, but these things will be tuned to meet everyone's needs. I like to play games with a healthy mix of role-playing and strategy, keeping time for both serious, dramatic moments and silly, humorous story beats. You can expect the game world to be fully developed, everywhere you go will be saturated in narrative, animated artwork, cartography, voice mods and atmospheric music. My games are a safe space for everyone involved, which we can go over with Lines & Veils. The most important goal for me as the GM is to make sure everyone has a great time playing. In a standard 3 hour game you can expect to have a 20-minute break around mid-session, and quick bio breaks whenever needed.
