Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Atop the high wall of Liverhaven, the last city of the living, you, an aspiring adventurer sit imagining what could possibly be beyond the horizon. The city streets bustle and beckon behind and below. A longing sigh leaves your chest. Your work can wait just a little bit longer. . .and just then, for the first time in your life behind these gleaming walls, something calls to you from within. The yearning to see the great big world out there somehow draws your attention back to the the very place you seek to escape! You turn around just as a thunderous rumble stirs from the center of the city. All you see is dust followed by the eruption of something from beneath Liverhaven. The dust is blown away as it rolls across the city like a wave! Roll me a strength saving throw? A 19? Okay, a gust of wind nearly rips you right off the high wall but you stand strong against the blast!! A tower shoots skyward, upward past the clouds all the way until. . .no. The very sky itself tears open! Between blue cracks, a dark night sky and strange shimmering lights. Could the bed time stories be true? Was the sky once full of. . .what were they called? Stars? Deep down you know there's only one way to get the answers you seek. That beckoning for the horizon stirs in you. You hear it's voice as it calls you to the tower. It calls to you, "Adventure awaits!" Embark on an epic journey to the far reaches of the world. Discover the truth behind stories of old. Have a safe and curated existential crisis? In this dying age, it will take the courage and strength of heroes to conquer the challenges that lie before you! Perhaps then, we might recover what has been lost. Best pack good snacks and even better dice!

How to prepare
An audible mic, discord, and roll20 are all that is needed on the tech front! Feel free to create your character sheet in roll20 if you are so inclined to automate rolls. I can help make your sheet in roll20. I also don't mind doing quick maths with die rolls! Personally I roll physical dice and I don't discourage you from doing the same! Otherwise, bring a good attitude and pack some rations. What's an adventure without snacks?
What I provide
I provide optional tunes, my own personal art, my own custom made adventure/setting, as well as a spunky attitude and good vibes!
Gameplay details
With original art by yours truly, the Tower of Liverhaven is a sandbox style campaign that emphasizes exploration and character lead story telling. During our session zero we will work together to fully immerse your characters into the world of Liverhaven. Mayhaps you're related to an important NPC, or what if you were the commander of the guard? A central figure in the criminal underground? Or are you an outsider seeking help from the last living city!? All of this is possible and more! Give your characters main character energy with their motivations! I love when characters are in search of their long lost family, or seem to have magical dreams that call them to somewhere distant they know not where! Leading up to and during our session zero I can work with you to have a motivation that will fully integrate your characters into the bones of the story. The idea is we're telling a story where nobody else could possibly be the main characters! As for the game's tone, expect a heroic but existential story. Themes of death, meaning, and reality itself will be explored and challenged. With bombastic action, evil villains, and a sense of whimsy and wonder sprinkled with a little zane, it's a legendary adventure damn it! There will be an expansive world to explore and plenty of room for investigating side missions and off roading shenanigans! The world is one at the brink of demise. We begin in Liverhaven, which according to the church of the Bastian is the so-called "last living city." The healing potion mote and the high wall protect the people from undead that aimlessly wonder the land. Your characters will start at level five and as such will be quite formidable within the city limits. You will be the "master of your domain" so to speak, knowing the ins and outs of your walk of life. Expect city politics and intrigue to come into play! I love your input. If you have a very specific character idea, I love brainstorming and working with people to figure out how they fit into the world at large and what kinds of ways the world will push back at them. Don't feel restrained by the preset parameters of my world! The world can mold to your own personal preferences and I don't even mind players throwing in a little world building! Character leveling will be story progression based. You can expect drawings of your characters that will be used as tokens in game! Any later level drawings will be commissioned. The setting is LGBTQ+ friendly, with only fantasy racism at play. I don't necessarily shy away from darker themes but we're not doing a grim dark story here. Themes of loss, death, and your character's personal identity will come up. And with all of that out of the way, remember! ADVENTURE AWAITS. . .and it is very impatient, so hurry up and sign up for my game before all the seats are filled!!! And lastly but not leastly, I take safety tools very seriously. Here is a list of the safety tools I use and how I implement them: -lines and veils: Lines and Veils set the boundaries of the games. Lines are hard limits for content the group doesn't want to participate in, this means that content will not be in game, referenced in game, or alluded to. Veils are soft limits, meaning that when the content arises it might be mentioned, but not described, or it could mean that when the content shows up, it results in a “fade-to-black”. You can either message me privately about your lines and veils or express them to the party at the beginning of the session. Which ever you prefer. -X, N, and O Cards: X, N, and O Cards are check-in tools. X-Cards are used to indicate that a participant is uncomfortable with the current content, often resulting in a change, rewind, or skip of the aforementioned content. N-Cards can be used by participants if they feel content is heading towards an X card, often resulting in a change or a “fade to back”. O-Cards are used to check-in on the group and ensure that everyone is comfortable continuing with the content. I will have electronic X, N, O cards in roll20 for your convenience. -Open Door: Open-Door is an assurance that anyone in the group can take a break from the game for their own safety and well-being without judgement. You can tell the party or message me directly that you are using the open door. There is no shame in needing a minute to collect yourself and things do come up from outside the game as well. Don't hesitate to take the time you need. -Breaks: For long games or stressful content, having built-in breaks allows the group to stay focused and process content. This time can be used for bio breaks, conversation, or any other necessities. I have a set 10 minute break for half way through every session, and if need be, more breaks can be taken if the group needs. -Debriefing: Debriefing is a way to reflect on the game. Identify possible issues, highlight the good parts, and work through potential emotional bleed. Bleed is just where certain emotions in the game might carry over into you life after the game is over. Debriefing will take place after the game and is opt in/out. I personally like to discuss games after they're over and get feed back, but also decompress. If this is something you like to do, feel free to stick around after and chat.

How will character creation work
I will be sending a link to my discord as well as a link to a character creation document! Once in the discord channel I can help you and explain anything you need explained in creating a character! So newbies rest easy! We will be having a free session zero where I can help you build your characters and seamlessly plug them into the world. The session zero is also a good place to try on a voice for your characters and discuss potential preexisting relationships between player characters. Feel free to have the character's sheet mostly made up before the session zero! If you're new to D&D 5e, no worries if none of what I'm about to say makes any sense: We will be starting at level 5. In order to make your characters you may roll best 3 out of 4d6, or use a standard array which in my games is 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 16. You can have special or magical items so long as it makes sense. If you'd like a particularly powerful item, I am willing to let players spend a full level for some really good stuff. Unofficial and homebrew material is welcome! By the first session, we should have fully ready-to-go characters!
