Dead Men Walkin' - A High Fantasy Weird West Adventure
Dungeon World | Campaign
About the adventure
The hot sun on a dry, cracked expanse of unforgiving no-man's land. The gleaming eyes of a half-mad goblin mage. The snarling, blood-soaked snout of a werewolf as it howls at a pair of twin moons in the night sky. And you, with a six shooter in one hand and a spell in the other. It's tough out here in Domadune. DEAD MEN WALKIN' is a high fantasy dark western set in the homebrew world of Eldermyst. It's a perfect setting if you want to engage with the genre of westerns without the inherent historical baggage of a real-world setting. THE SETTING: In the shattered world of Eldermyst there is a small continent known as Domadune, an island that sits isolated in the middle of the vast, open sea. The once great land has been largely lawless for at least a millennia, but a new power structure has formed. Near the middle of the continent, nestled in a caldera between mountain ranges and at the center point between 3 large necropoli, the city of Rotchapel has begun to amass power. There, groups of powerful necromancers, liches, and infernal creatures have set the city as the capital of the region, and have wasted no time in establishing control of the continent. THE CAMPAIGN: will see you and your cohorts in a sandbox adventure while you defend yourselves and the innocents around you from the powers of greedy and corrupt tycoons and lawmen as they attempt to spread their sphere of influence across the land. THEMES INCLUDE: justice, retribution, conflicts between nature/civilization, individual/community, and law/good GENRE: High fantasy, Western, Gothic Horror, with flavors of splatterpunk thrown in.

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Storytelling
Teacher
Visual Aid
This game is so much fun, especially if you enjoy superheroes, cyber tech and multiverses. I played it as my first ever campaign and had a blast exploring and learning TTRPGs with such a fun sub genre and great GM. Killian is super flexible with the player’s vision of the characters. I found it very helpful especially as a beginner. I was being heard and guided to the best character I can make and experience he can give my party. The story is always engaging and he goes above and beyond with the special aspects that make the world real during the game (ie, maps, theater of the mind, small props for characters, music and background noise)
Killian provides awesome visual and sound aids to set the vibe and allows for his participants to feel safe and creative in the space. He is a great story teller and it is evident that he puts a lot of work into his campaigns. Definitely knows how to handle anything that our crazy bunch throws at him.

How to prepare
All the will players need is a mic and Discord. Character Sheets and dice will be handled in Foundry. Basic rules will be covered in Session 0, but I encourage my players to take a look at some of the basic rules before hand so that everyone is at least familiar with the flow of the game.
What I provide
I use Foundry/Forge, a VTT with a built in chat function, virtual dice, character sheets, and battle maps (most of which will be custom) As an actor/filmmaker I prioritize narrative and immersion. I do character voices and accents, especially for major NPC's. I'm a "yes, and" type of GM, meaning that I will do my best to hear what you're trying to accomplish and follow that thread, within reason. (We're not breaking the game for a bit, but we'll let some craziness happen) In terms of rules, I strive for a mix between RAW and Rule of Cool. If what a player is asking for is not strictly RAW, but is rad and doesn't break the game then we're full steam ahead. In terms of combat, I don't require intense tactics but I will always reward creative and critical thinking.
Gameplay details
There are a fair number of tags here, rest assured that all of these are only within the bounds that make sense within the world. (There are necromancers, vampires, demons, werewolves, etc...) I do my best to stay away from anything gratuitous or poor taste. SAFETY TOOLS: - Monte Cook RPG consent form will be sent to you via a link, this will be sent out pre-Session 0. - X, N, and O will always be allowed to be put in chat during game. - Debriefing/aftercare can be asked for during/after any session and I will do my best to call for it after a particularly rough session if one occurs.
