About the adventure
Game of Castles This game is a short story about a group of individuals who come together to affect local politics, power structures, and lives. A tale of heroes or villains who come together and leave their mark on the world in a real way the common man can see and understand. In this story you will have the chance to adventure, raise an army or two, capture castles, and fight a war. How this devlops is entirely up to you and those who stand next to you. How will you catapult into the realm of warlords, nobles, and despots? The opening scene will be you as a group thrust into the middle of combat in the midst of a dungeon. You are closing in on what has to be the final areas of Hob Goblins. A small raiding party had taken over an old tomb complex and stole away with some treasure of which you were hired to recover. The wizard that contracted you did so through magical means and promised you coin and your pick of the lot so long as the arcane lock box is returned to him at his tower. This game is a one shot in intention and will follow the Siege of Castle Rend story from MCDM Strongholds and Followers. You will engage with the systems it uses for raising an army and facing a hostile force while still being adventurers.

About me
I am a veteran DM of Roll 20 and now am expanding to here as my player base grows. I normally run one shots or short stories with cinematic storytelling and combat as an enhancement to what you fantastic players already bring to the table.

Character creation
Creating your character
Level: 5 Stats: You may roll or take 27 point buy. Rolling; [[4d6kh3]] [[4d6kh3]] [[4d6kh3]] [[4d6kh3]] [[4d6kh3]] [[4d6kh3]] Roll that and total the scores. If it is below 72, continue to roll a new set and until it is 72 total or better. Equipment: Starting gear +500 GP. You may sell any class equipment for full price and purchase any mundane adventuring gear you want. You also may have 3 Potions of Healing. HP will be determined by rolling and any roll less than average will be defaulted to average. We will collectively determine connections with the characters to ensure there is some narrative strings to pull on between each character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
I will be using Roll 20 and Discord. I use sound/music through Roll 20 and Voice only through Discord so an operational mic is necessary. A roll 20 account is free to make and will be needed to join the VTT.
What Xillias brings to the table
Voices, ambient music, tactical combat, Rule of Cool for sure, and cinematic experience.
Homebrew rules
We will be using a mass combat system in this session developed by MCDM. It allows for various levels of engagement from the players, so you do not have to worry about making a character built for leading armies and engaging with it, but the system will be used.

How Xillias creates a safe table
I will have a sort of "Session 0" at the start once everyone joins in. At that time I will go over any issues that may come up and offer a chance for people to bring up such things either in voice or through DM to me. Beyond that once the games kicks off unless something was determined at the start in our "Session 0" speak up or message me when something needs to be handled and I will handle it accordingly.
