About the adventure
The Sword, The Crown, and The Unspeakable Power is a game about political intrigue, fantasy, and plenty of backstabbing. You play as denizens in this setting, some more well-known and/or better-placed than others. While you may not always be friends - in fact it's highly unlikely you are - you're usually allies (regardless how tenuous those alliances may be). In Tolia, blood is the guage by which everything is measured. It powers the machinery, it can be used as currency, and, for those sensitive to it, the blood whispers secrets and offers power. Those that channel the blood's will are revered and feared almost equally in turn. Who are you? Do you prefer to negotiate with violence? Or do you barter with sly smiles and shallow words? Perhaps you draw upon the Unspeakable Power to twist the world to your whims? Irregardless of the answer, be sure to sleep with one eye open - you never know who you can trust. This campaign is for players of all experience levels, so feel free to join even if you're unfamiliar with the system! Note: This is a very involved campaign. Players will have to be careful to keep track of what their characters know as well as their various alliances, allegiances, and enmities. Note 2: While I usually prefer to avoid inter-character conflict, this game semi-relies on such things - while we will have open discussions above-table, please keep such frictions in mind when deciding to join. Note 3: In terms of touchstones, we'll be thematically drawing from media with ensemble casts and lots of social intrige, such as Game of Thrones.

About me
Hi, I'm Sonder, I use she/her pronouns, and I've been playing and GM-ing TTRPGs for about 5 years, and designing them for about 2. I love collaborative storytelling and greatly enjoy tailoring narratives for characters. I've run a variety of TTRPGs spanning various systems and genres such as Monster of the Week, Masks, The Between, Absurdia, and a variety of other PbtAs. I'm also familiar with similar systems such as FitD, Belonging Outside Belonging, Rooted in Trophy, and the Resistance system. I would be more than happy to tailor any of these games to suit your table's needs! I'm also open to running any other rules-light TTRPGs of a similar nature, so feel free to reach out to me anytime!

Players say this GM is great at:
Creativity
Teacher
Inclusive
Sonders games are phenomenal. She encourages and inspires collaborative storytelling through role play between players as well as between players and the GM (which is imo is the most important thing in TTRPG exfeot not every GM is good at that) and allows space for players to thoroughly dig into the characters within stories that are full of intrigues, substance, and depth. She runs narrative driven systems which is also a big positive for players looking to try out games outside of the D&D monopoly. I've always felt extraordinarily emerged in the stories we ended up creating together as the sessions always felt more like interactive episodes of a great TV show rather than simply a game.

Safety
How Sonder creates a safe table
- There will be a (free) Session 0 before the beginning of the campaign where I will explain the rules and premise of the game as well as guide the players through character creation. - Every player will be encouraged to add their Lines and Veils to a shared Google Sheet (this will be anonymous). - Around once an hour, we will be taking 5-10 minute breaks - X, N, and O cards will be via message or on voice chat. - If an Open Door is invoked, other than asking if the player will be back later and what triggered the Open Door no other questions will be asked. - Stars and Wishes will be discussed at the end of the session.
