💥The End of Arcana💥|Beginner Friendly
Fate is trembling. The supremacy of the Navy, masters of the arcane, will be challenged. You can ride the wave, or drown beneath it.
About the adventure
You are a nobody that wants to become somebody. The seas are churning with gunpowder and intrigue, the sort that gets the romantic minstrels in taverns chiming. Gold with riches and red with danger, the waves of chaos lick at the walls of civilization, heralding a great tsunami that'll drown the mages and sink their spires. This is your chance to become somebody! A half-blind beggar? An estranged princess? A teacher tired of classrooms? A son of an infamous criminal? Everyone is equal in the wheel of fate, and as it turns, those with ill destinies are ground to dust. You better not be one of them. --- Are you a fan of One Piece? The ship is ready for you. Are you a fan of gray and gritty stories? Be ready to have your heart squeezed. Are you a fan of intrigue and mythical experiences? Your decisions will shape the lives of thousands, if not millions. Are you a fan of homebrew? We have unique power systems that make the impossible seem probable. Laws, Shards, Divine Service... If you say Yes to everything above, this game is for you. Heavy on the roleplay, we will explore the depths of your characters together, who will grow with you as you face the wonders of Weizglass. Be Somebody. An icon of good or a totem of evil, you decide. --- 🌗 Grim and Radiant, face light or face shadow! ☠️ Magic on the high seas, yarrr! 🤯 Story-focused, highlighting the growth of characters! 🏳️🌈 Welcome to all and beginner-friendly! ⚙️ Homebrew, homebrew, homebrew!

About me
Welcome to my profile, bozo. Here, you'll find how my ECCENTRICITY stands as the foundation to my craft. I tried DnD in 2018, and within weeks, became the DM and have been cursed with this power since. My stories focus on the struggles of the character and the emotional turmoil that comes with them. In light we may see a paladin who blooms with righteousness, but in the dark, they are haunted by every soul they've claimed in the name of their God. My studies in psychology only deepens my interest in this kind of approach. Running games isn't just an avenue for me to display my writing; the stories that happen within my games are born from our interactions as fellow players. You are as much a writer as I am in the game. If you're the sort to enjoy seeing the growth of your character as a person, then take a seat. This table welcomes those who want to grow alongside the story, as both PC and Player. I've been DMing for over 7 years now, reaching my 8th. I hope to see more creative minds intermingle with mine, synapses exploding together to create heartshaking tales!

Sets the Mood
He has created quite the world. Weizglass. Fun place with many fun faces and factions, great mysteries, and more. Playing with him as the game master will have you delving into a vast world, and it is there that your character will carve out their own slice... or perhaps suffer tragedy in trying. Oh yeah and be prepared for some level of psychological scrutiny. He likes to slowly understand his player's mindset and how it influences their characters.
Ecc's a great DM who goes to great lengths to give everyone at the table the spotlight. He's willing to work extensively with each and every player to explore their character's goal, backstory, motivation, and relationship throughout the game so that they will continue to grow and bloom. His campaigns are serious when they need to be and humorous at other times. There's no lack of challenge to overcome for those who are willing to invest, whether they prefer the mechanical part or the roleplaying part of the game. He also has great patience, is willing to listen, and never discriminates. Of course, he also has his weak points, like his inability to handle most VTT (or anything technology for that matter) or his somewhat juvenile humor at times (not that bad, just personal preference). But if you're looking for a story rich game with deep character development, sitting at Eccentric's table is an experience you should not miss.
Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be done before the first session, and I'd like to have everyone involved be in at least one or two calls before the game actually starts. Mainly, to discuss boundaries with each other, and what should be avoided generally during our time together. Playing or running games for me just ain't for the fun of it, but also for the experience of growing as people. Sorry, it's my psychology studies showing, teehee~ We will have a Discord dedicated server for discussions. Ideally, everyone's narratives should mesh together, at least at the start. We'll finalize a general vibe for the party, then we'll go private with the talks for character narratives. Mechanics: - Stats can be rolled (3d6), Point Buy, or we follow a special stat array. We can decide as a group. - The game will start at level 1, but level 2 is possible as well. - I like to use Avrae, the Discord Bot, as the rolls would normally be rolled there. If you don't know what that is, I'll introduce it in time, but if memory serves, DnDBeyond can connect to it. I suggest against that however, as we'll be homebrewing. - I don't use any official books published beyond Tasha's Cauldron, but it can be discussed. 5.5e, I haven't really tried yet, so don't expect we'll be using it, but I'm open to trying it out. - As mentioned, we'll homebrew. However, nothing over the top at the start. We're still in mostly generic fantasy, after all. Homebrew requests will be passed through me first. Though, I can provide some material I've already approved before in previous games.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
We'll be using Discord and Owlbear, mainly! I'll make a Discord server for us, and I'll run you guys through the basics of Avrae!
What The Eccentric brings to the table
I do character voices and use ambient music! I tweak if I don't. Genuinely, combat is not my forte as a GM. We'll discuss what kind of combat you guys will want, but I don't normally just do "I attack, HP 0, I WIN!" combat. I like to spice it up. Combat will be rare, unless you guys commit "funny activities", and when it does appear, it will be a challenge. Skill checks, objects, utility spells, you'll have to use a lot of things. We do a healthy mix of Rule of Cool and Rules as Written. Gotta be grounded to the setting and all that. We also have a lot of homebrew mechanics unique to the setting. For example, I have my own set of rules for weapons, armor, and how to empower them. There are also distinctions (sometimes) on effects, because we don't use "nonmagical" in the setting. Instead, we call them mundane, because there's another type of power in the setting: fundamental. More will be explained in the group discussions. The bread and butter of this setting, however, are the power systems. In a One-Piece inspired world, you gotta have some elements to make your characters unique and funky. A tidbit: imagine we have our own "Devil Fruit" shenanigans, albeit weaker. More will be explained in the discussions, or even during the campaign!
Homebrew rules
We have a handful, and they're better explained than listed. Don't necessarily need to use them all, though.

How The Eccentric creates a safe table
We must be transparent. Issues that arise MUST be discussed, not just left to fester. We're adults here, we'll talk about our problems. Boundaries, disagreements, and expectations must be cleared and resolved. Whether it's through a call or just chatting, let's be civil and cooperative in getting a fun table together.
