Greetings, fellow adventurers! I’m Gerik, your dedicated Game Master! For years, I’ve been immersed in the world of tabletop RPGs, guiding brave heroes through fantastical worlds. I take heavy inspiration from shows like Narrative Declaration/Glass Cannon Podcast, and look to foster a table community where everyone can laugh together and feel welcome. Creating your character
Characters begin at Level 1 Ancestry: Most permitted, but ancestries mentioned in the player's guide are highly encouraged. Many uncommon ancestries such as Tengu, Kitsune, and Nagaji are recommended. Classes: Most allowed. Some restrictions may apply depending on a player's level of experience. (Exemplar excluded) Free Archetype with multiclass archetypes excluded. Gradual Ability Boost Backgrounds: Due to strong plot reasons, backgrounds presented in the players' guide are heavily encouraged. Non-Evil characters Character creation will be conducted/finalized during session 0, but you are encouraged to come to the table with ideas!

New joiners should be wary of spoilers, but those who have not had an opportunity to finish the adventure and would like to are welcome.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
In the Season of Ghosts Adventure Path, each player character calls Willowshore their home—be it one their family has lived in for generations or a place they’ve only recently arrived at. Due to the overarching mystery and plot, it is required that players utilize the player's guide for this adventure. You can find it here: https://downloads.paizo.com/SeasonofGhosts_PlayersGuide.pdf No software installation or account creation is required. Access to a stable internet connection and your browser is all you need! A mic is required, as well as a set of headphones for all the music and sound effects. Getting into a roleplaying mindset is very highly encouraged!

Homebrew rules
Optional Rule if the table agrees Inspired by Daggerheart, I have the following modified death mechanics: When a player character is about to die, they have an opportunity to make one of the following death moves. 1. Blaze of Glory: Your character embraces death and goes out in a blaze of glory. Take one action (at the GM’s discretion), which critically succeeds, then cross through the veil of death. 2. Avoid Death: Your character avoids death and faces the consequences. They temporarily drop unconscious, and then you work with the GM to describe how the situation worsens. Your character can’t move or act while unconscious, they can’t be targeted by an attack, and they return to consciousness when an ally heals their wounds or when the party finishes a long rest. After your character falls unconscious, roll a d20. If its value is equal to or under your character’s level, they gain a scar. The scar is represented mechanically by a permanent, doomed condition. When the doomed condition reaches its maximum, that character must cease adventuring and retire.

How Gerik creates a safe table
Each player who joins my server is required to sign my onboarding document, where I outline all my table/community rules. These cover topics such as behaviors that will not be tolerated as well as other housekeeping topics. Refusal to sign this document disqualifies players from playing at the table to ensure the safety of all members who do.
