About the adventure

Welcome to Hillview. The most boring town in the multiverse. Statistically speaking, if you calculated the point farthest from anything cool, it’d land right here: a dead-end farm town, disconnected from everything that matters. The only thing to do in Hillview is build a sketchy hoverboard, rip open a portal, and hurl yourself into the multiverse; praying this time, you don’t get dragged back. Eject Before Impact is a high-energy mini-campaign where you play a crew of Slugblasters: teen punks with homemade gear and a reckless streak, skating through alternate dimensions in search of glory, freedom, and a way out. We’ll follow your crew across eight years of their lives, one session per year. You’ll do gravity-defying stunts, sneak into parties, negotiate shady sponsorships, and navigate the drama of backstabbing cliques, busted tech, and friendships under pressure. Meanwhile, the adults in your life? Yeah, they still don’t get it. Do you make it in the end, or do you end up just another burn out? You’ll have to play to find out! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect Eject Before Impact follows a group of friends from awkward tweenhood into chaotic young adulthood (about eight years of their lives, played across eight sessions.) Each session covers one pivotal moment from that year: an epic skate session, a major rivalry, or something else that seemed like a good idea at the time. After you make it back alive, you’ll spend the STYLE and TROUBLE you earned to shape the emotional fallout: build your reputation, mend (or strain) relationships, and push your personal arc forward. In the final session, we’ll look back on everything your crew did and decide what it all meant. Who did you become? What did it cost? Would you do it over again? Play hard, take big swings, and put it all on the line to make your slugblasting dreams come true ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About the System If you’ve played FitD systems before, you’ll recognize the D6 dice pools, player moves, GM reactions, and stress mechanic. l The difficulty’s high, the dice pools are small, and you’re gonna fail a lot. But that’s the point. This isn’t a life-or-death story (most of the time). It’s about making a big mess out of everything. The show stopper here is the story beat mechanic, where you spend XP during downtime to unlock new abilities, but only after roleplaying key moments tied to your character’s personal growth. If you like fast action, big emotions, and skate-punk energy, this game’s for you. you bring the attitude, I’ll bring the multiverse.

About me

I launched my professional game-mastering journey in the fall of 2020, but my passion for running tabletop games stretches back nearly 15 years before that, entertaining friends both online and offline. My roots are in 3rd Edition D&D and Pathfinder, and I've played through every edition up to the current 5th. My repertoire also includes a wide variety of Powered by the Apocalypse and small-press indie games. Always on the hunt for innovative storytelling tools, so I'm your go-to DM for any offbeat indie game you've been itching to play but couldn't find someone to run. By day, I work as a teacher, which fuels my passion for introducing newcomers to the world of tabletop gaming. Regardless of your background or experience level, you can rest assured that my table is a welcoming, safe place to learn, explore, and challenge yourself. I'm excited to bring your story to life! If you're ready for an adventure, reach out to me today and let's get rolling!

I've played in 2 campaigns with Emil now, and starting a third! He is a great collaborative storyteller, very knowledgeable of the rules and runs challenging, fun combats while allowing for player creativity and thinking outside of the box. He really goes above and beyond to build your character and their backstory into the campaign and gives every player a chance to shine. Very patient and great for both beginners and experienced players.

Emil is a wonderful, collaborative storyteller who cares about your character's journey and wants to see them shine! I played Wanderhome with him, and I couldn't ask for a better GM. He is thoughtful, inclusive and easily rolls with player shenanigans. Book him today!

From our first session where we got to know Emil, got to see how we fit together as a group and he explained to us how he runs his games I was really hopeful for what was to come and I can tell you honestly, after over a year of regular sessions that together we surpassed all of my expectations of what a TTRPG can be. Emil approached the game as a collective story we were all writing together, I never once felt like I had to do anything my character wouldn't have chosen to do, or felt like I was ever put in a position I wasn't comfortable with. The combat was often challenging, sometimes nerve-wracking, and always fun, victories really felt like they were earned, but it's the NPCs and the world we created together, the friendships and enemies and changes to the map that are the things that I aspire for in any games I play in the future. I had a very basic grip of the rules when we started but Emil has a genuine knack at making complicated and sometimes convoluted information really simple to understand, and thanks to him I came to know the rules and the system so well that I took the plunge and tried DMing myself a few times, something I don't think I would have had the knowledge or confidence to attempt if I hadn't had such a great DM to learn from and grow with as a player. Now you might have gotten to this point thinking I'm blowing smoke but I really can't overstate how good a DM Emil is, for brand new players and grizzled veterans alike.

For my first time with the group, new player, they were welcoming and supportive. DM was fun and made the world come alive.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character Creation will happen during session 0 So I can walk everyone through the process, and we can make a crew that feels like they fit well together. However, character sheets and a character creation guide will be available in the discord if you want to get a head start.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Technical preparation: • The big thing here is that you need a computer with a stable internet connection and a reliable way for us to hear your voice. • We are using Discord for audio. You can download it for free if you don’t have it already. The computer version works great if you have a microphone, otherwise, you can put it on your phone and use earbuds. • You will also need to make a free account on Roll20.net. This doesn’t require any additional downloads. All services will be provided through the browser Social Preparation: • This is a high-energy, feelings-forward game where everyone should feel welcome to be weird, messy, and a little over-the-top. The most important prep is showing up excited to play and also being just as ready to support your fellow players’ in their big, messy moments. • No Slugblaster (or even TTRPG) experience is required. If you want to prep a little, I’ll be sharing a quickstart rules guide, and you’re welcome to skim the moves and character sheets ahead of time. But honestly? Your best bet is to blast some punk rock and watch Lords of Dogtown. You’ll be improvising wild ideas and reacting to chaos more than memorizing rules. One-on-one: • Before Session 0, I’d love to have a quick 5–10 minute chat with each of you over Discord. Nothing formal, just a chance to say hi, answer questions, and make sure everything’s set up so we can hit the ground running.

What Emil brings to the table

I’ll bring the rule PDFs, quickstart and character creation guides, integrated sheets on Roll20, a killer playlist, and a ton of hype for my players. Slugblaster is built for fast, loose, high-energy play. I’m here to spotlight your big moments and back up your impulsive choices with a world that reacts and remembers. I’ll provide the structure and support, but you’re the ones bringing the fire.

Safety
How Emil creates a safe table

Slugblaster can be messy and intense. It’s a game about teens making wild decisions, chasing attention, and sometimes crashing hard, either emotionally or physically. That can bring up moments of vulnerability, social pressure, or even unintended discomfort. I believe we can explore those big, chaotic feelings in a way that’s fun, supportive, and never harmful. When you sign up, we’ll talk individually about Lines and Veils. Then use that as a jumping-off point in Session 0 for a group conversation about the over all tone we want to set for the game as well as additional safety tools. It’s important to me that players feel comfortable using the X-card and open-door policy at any time and for any reason. During play, there will be digital safety tools throughout the game, including the X-card, N-card, and O-card, as well as open lines of communication through text or voice. If something feels off or you need a break for any reason, you have options to talk to me privately without interrupting play, pause the game to discuss an issue, or step away for any reason. After each session, I make space for check-ins (in voice or over Discord chat) to talk about highlights, questions, and how everyone’s feeling. The goal is to make sure you leave every session feeling energized, safe, and creatively seen.
