About the adventure

What is best in life? Kicking in a door, bashing a monster over the head and taking anything that looks expensive. Dungeon Crawl Classics is what it says on the tin, classic dungeon crawling. All killer no filler! 📖The Rules Character creation is no longer an arduous trek back and forth through a rule book, optimising your build where only a handful of options are truly any good. Instead, you get a collection of manure-shovelling level 0 peasants and whoever survives the first adventure gets to pick a class. No waiting for your class to get good either; from level 1 you have everything that makes your class unique. ⚔️ The Adventures Every DCC adventure has you battling cosmic forces, looting glorious treasure and delving into the shadowy deeps right from level 0. The balance between law and chaos is in your hands; the blood you shed will grease the wheels of history. Sword and sorcery! Gold and glory! Dare I say, even dungeons and dragons!

About me

I'm a long-time GM with a lot of experience teaching players new systems. My home game has bounced around systems a lot but eventually landed on Cyberpunk Red. Not surprising given my obsession with the sci-fi subgenre. As far as TTRPGs are concerned, I am a big believer in buy-in roleplay; players should only have to "act" as far as they are comfortable. My games emphasize problem-solving using your character's skills, the world and that mushy stuff between your ears. When I am not running TTRPGs I am an engineer; a knowledge set I bring to the table. Many of the tools I use are fairly cyberpunk too; from the fact that I run Linux to the scripts I use to generate things on the fly. It is a genre that I am deeply familiar with in a way I think many GMs are not (though that is likely my ego talking). I also run Dungeon Crawl Classics and its derivatives as I have found it to be very good for introducing new players to TTRPGs, and one of my other little obsessions is D&D's Appendix N. That older school of fantasy before the rigid lines of today is endlessly fascinating. However, I am struggling to get anyone to play that with me on this site.

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be given anywhere from 3-5 randomly generated characters to take through the funnel. The surviving characters get to pick a class and will be defined by their adventures.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Have a Discord and Roll20 account, and a working mic. If you want to get a headstart on the rules the free kickstart rules (https://goodman-games.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/2023_DCC_QSR_completeLinks_ScreenRes.pdf) are more than enough. The rest of the book is for GMs mostly. We will also use the Crawler companion to simplify using the magic system https://crawler.purplesorcerer.com/.
