About the adventure

Welcome to the world of Mage the Ascension, and to the ranks of the Sorcerers (or Enlightened Citizens, to the Technocratic Union) that live on the edges of the Ascension War, sometimes taking sides in its battles, other times carving their own domains within the Reality all willworkers fight for. In this game you'll take the role of a cabal of Sorcerers - Static Magic users that are often outshined by the Awakened but on which they often rely to keep the foundations of their Conventions and Traditions stable. Due to a common enemy you have united under a common banner, and now you must cooperate to see this threat vanquished - or face the risk of losing everything you have fought for. This is the perfect game for both beginners and veterans of Mage the Ascension or it's Sorcerer counterpart, with my 15 years of experience as a DM and more than 500 hours as a Mage Storyteller to back it up - not only that, but the experience will be fully customizable and unique per group, with the players working together to polish the premise to their liking before we begin play.

About me

Hello! My name is Daniel and I've been a GM since my first time playing when I was 13 years old. I'm also a Psychologist, and my deep interest in the human mind has helped me in my DM journey, crafting worlds, characters, stories and connections between them, creating vibrant worlds for my players to immerse themselves in.

Character creation

Creating your character

We'll work on character concepts and ideas through discord before the game, then we'll polish those ideas to completion with a session 0 (which I don't charge for).

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a computer with an internet browser , a discord account in order to access the discord and a microphone for using on voice chat.

What Daniel E. brings to the table

I DM using Foundry VTT for maps, sheets and dice (also music, which we'll discuss depending on the themes and premise details the players prefer) - and discord for voice and text chat. My GM style involves a balance between roleplay and combat - I often try to make stories that may be solved with as little combat as possible but do offer diverse combat experiences if that's what the players prefer. This is still a World of Darkness game, so do keep in mind that dark themes are to be expected somewhat.

Homebrew rules

If the group prefers I'm open to variations on the game's usual power-levels and premise - Would you want to play mages instead? Would a Technocracy version of this story be cooler? Should everyone begin with more Numina points? Or maybe you were apprentices when your mentor died? Any such decisions will be discussed on session 0.
