About me
Greetings everybody! Call me Nathan (he/him)! I am a storyteller at heart who loves all forms of fiction. I run games ranging from pulpy sci-fi to gritty fantasy and everything in between. I especially love weird or non-standard settings. Superheroes in a cyberpunk city? Time-traveling fantasy adventure? Teenagers on a supernatural road trip? I'm all here for it. I believe that tabletop RPGs are a unique storytelling experience where everyone at the table becomes both author and audience to the shared story. Facilitating this shared storytelling experience is my primary goal as a GM. My games do not make use of generative AI for writing, music, or images. Creating your character
We will create Novice-ranked characters during session zero. I am primarily using the core rulebook for Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, along with selections from the SWADE Science Fiction Companion. You can make characters with as much or as little backstory as you wish - all I ask for is that your character has a reason to hate the Empire.
We are currently at Seasoned rank, having completed the first three adventures in Dawn of Defiance. Our heroes are: ⚙️ Axel: Decommissioned clone trooper who spoke out against the Empire. Wields twin pistols with expert precision. ⚡ Carudan Cavalean: Zabrak bruiser with an electrostaff and a chip on his shoulder. May actually be Force-sensitive. 🚀 Roa Naneal: Nautolan smuggler with a rebellious streak who's only in it for the money. Captain of the Bluevev Glider. 📙 Saro Povli: Archivist for the Jedi Temple who was lucky enough to avoid Order 66. Haunted by survivor's guilt.

What Nathan Patrick Lane brings to the table

As a GM, I am very familiar with both Dawn of Defiance and Savage Worlds, hence my decision to combine the two to create something even greater. I like to work with players rather than against them, and collaborating with players in their aims for grand success or catastrophic failure is something I'm always proud of.

How Nathan Patrick Lane creates a safe table
Before session zero, I'll be private messaging all the players one-on-one to discuss Lines & Veils. Our first session will be a free session zero, wherein we will make introductions, review Lines & Veils, and create characters. At the end of every session, I will run through "Roses, Thorns, and Buds", allowing players to present positive and negative feedback about the game along with suggestions to make the game more enjoyable in the future. Bigotry will not be tolerated in this group. Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or other prejudiced behaviors will warrant an immediate kick.
