About the adventure
A crowd gathers around a single point near the tavern's bar. The rugged captain beckons all to come closer and listen in. "You've all heard the rumors, haven't you? A new continent across the sea—land so rich, they say the rivers run golden. Fields that grow crops taller than a man, mountains glittering with veins of silver and gems as big as your fist—a true paradise, they call it." The captain looks around at those gathered. "And for those brave enough to seize it, it's like plucking treasure right off the trees." He gives a crooked smile, letting the words sink in. "Now, sure, there’s talk of fierce beasts roaming the lands and tales of beast-men tribes who don’t take kindly to outsiders. But that’s just talk, meant to scare off the weak-hearted. There’s plenty of treasure to go around—enough to start a new life or bring back a lifetime of wealth! I can take you there for cheap, a one-way trip to your fortune." He pauses, his grin widening. "So, what’ll it be? Riches and glory? Or stay here and keep hearing the tales secondhand?" Welcome to my campaign listing! We're currently six months into the campaign, sitting at level 4. The party is slowly learning more about this strange land. Will you aid them in this adventure? I hope you're interested in joining. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about the campaign in my direct messages! Also, the first session for each player is free!

About me
Heya! I’m Apoc, I'm the GM you want if you enjoy long-term, lore-rich campaigns with a focus on roleplay and the party's characters. I put a big focus on you, the player, your character, and the party as a whole. I highly encourage player-to-player roleplay! I create most of my content myself. This includes custom maps, custom creatures, custom items, and homebrew player character options. This also includes overhauling the base 5e content, and including content from the Forgotten Realms lore to give the players more options. Here’s a little bit about my experience: I’ve been playing D&D 5e since March 2021 and have had the privilege of being a GM since January 2022. I’ve hosted two custom one-shots for four groups—which taught me a lot about how to design smaller adventures. I've also hosted and completed a major campaign; a two-year-long campaign which played out during the events of Baldur's Gate 1, sometimes overlapping with the story of Gorion's Ward. Lastly, I've hosted a short campaign set in the Silver Marches, and another in the Dragon Coast near Westgate. Each of these campaigns were filled with my own custom content, and put a big focus on the player characters. And I’m always looking to improve my storytelling, whether it’s through in-depth lore, expansive world-building, or creative custom content. I'm very player-friendly, and will make sure you're having fun and your voice is heard throughout the campaign. I believe communication is the key to a successful game. I’m always eager to hear feedback and critique. I’m always eager to hear what you have to say. Send me a message if you're interested in playing with me! Even if there's not a listing for a game currently open, I have an open schedule. Hopefully we can have some amazing and memorable adventures!

Sets the Mood
Apoc’s game is simultaneously part of Forgotten Realms and yet apart from it: Set in an earlier timeline than most games and on a strange, newly identified island with everything still to discover and explore - each new hex can bring new dangers, old dangers, mysteries or bizarre encounters. Numerous house rules build on the core 5e ruleset to create an immersive experience where your intrepid explorers need to find and keep track of more resources than just spell slots or arrows, such as food items or spell components. All using a Foundry VTT with countless additional modules and features to further engage the players.
Apoc delivered an expertly crafted campaign derived from the world which existed during the events of the first Baldur's Gate videogame title. Amid the backdrop of BG1's main quest happening in the background, our party was one of the many groups of people living and adventuring during this snapshot of sword-coast history. It was no small feat which Apoc accomplished, to have created a story parallel with the one from BG1 but never intersecting on more than a few occasions. It demonstrated a passion for storytelling and an appreciation for that game which carried over into his style of DMing. And his ability to create balanced and well-thought-out homebrew was exemplified in his faithful, but also sensible, integration of older edition items and enemies into the 5e format. I would strongly recommend this DM to my friends, and would eagerly play his campaigns again in the future should the opportunity arise.
Apoc is a great storyteller, being able to organically role play on the fly. They set the mood every session with appropriate music, visuals, and highly detailed maps that the players were encouraged to explore. What I greatly enjoyed about Apoc as a Game Master was their ability to intertwine player characters' backstories into the over arching story. My character felt apart of Apoc's world from beginning to end. Not only that, my character got to learn what Apoc's world had in store for them. It was an emotional, gruesome, and courageous adventure.
I have played with Apoc for a few years and he is always very creative and fun to play with. Apoc is quite good at weaving fun twists and turns into a story that always keep you on your toes wondering what is next. He is also very knowledgeable about how whatever system he is running at any given point.
Character creation
Creating your character
When you apply for the game, you can add me on discord. I'll ask you if we can have a voice chat when you're avaiable. I'll talk with you about your experience in D&D and what you're looking for from this campaign. I'll let you know about the major and minor changes in homebrew rules I have for D&D, and you can ask me anything you need to know. Once that's all settled, I'll introduce you to the other players by letting you join the Discord server, which will also include the link to the Foundry VTT server, which you can join to create your character.

What Apoc brings to the table
- Professionally made world map by Dodosarthouse - Custom battle maps made by me - Custom/Homebrew Content made by me - Overhauled and expanded 5e content made by me - Quality of life and Mechanical house rules - Background ambience and music - Foundry VTT (Which is free for players!)
Homebrew rules
The game's discord includes a full list of all the house rules, and the Foundry server shows all the overhaul changes. Some examples of houserules/changes are as follows: Player Level Advancement: ASI and Feats are now based on your player level, and are now separated, gained at different levels. For example, feats are gained at 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th, and 20th level, and ASI are gained at 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th, and 20th level. ASI only provides 1 point towards increasing an ability score. Feats: Feats have been overhauled and new ones have been added. Feats that provided ability score increases no longer do so, and are adjusted to make up for that change. there's now also a feat that grants you 1 point towards an ability score. Please message me for more information on the Feats! Spells: some spell have been overhauled, had the wording of their description improved, new spells from the lore have been added, and some have been added from games like Baldur's Gate 3 like Bursting Sinew! Races: a lot more races have been added from the lore and each race has been overhauled to have a more unique identity. Ability score options have been improved, whilst still staying true to the race's identity.
