Keys from the Golden Vault - Beginner friendly
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Greetings and welcome! ✨ Has the unbridled desire led you here, to step into the shoes of the greats? Do you want to charm a few guards like Lupin, craft an intricate plan with George Clooney and Brad Pitt to infiltrate a secure complex, and then pull off a Tom Cruise maneuver to retrieve the desired MacGuffin and make an elegant exit? Then you've found what you're looking for! What I Offer I offer you a beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons session that begins with a grand heist. We'll start with a Session 0, where we discuss common wishes, expectations, and boundaries, and create your characters. We'll meet on Discord for this. I have an extensive collection of rulebooks that I'll gladly share with you. We might also use a few maps, but mostly, we'll play using the principle of 'Theater of the Mind'. What You Bring You'll need access to Discord and an account on D&D Beyond. It would be great if you set this up beforehand. We'll create the characters together there. Ideally, you'll already have an idea for your character. You don't need knowledge of the rules; it's more about the character itself. Who is this person? What species do they belong to, and where do they come from? What brings them to the scene, and what motivates them in life? General Framework We'll be playing in a major metropolis on the Sword Coast - in Waterdeep. There's nothing you won't find there. Waterdeep is a trading center and a refuge for everyone, regardless of race, species, or gender - everyone has their place in Waterdeep. At the same time, two points are very important to me: Firstly, you have all the freedom in this game. Don't like the nose of the quest-giver? Just move on. Don't see the point in rescuing the kidnapped person? Okay, then do something else. You determine the path; I merely describe it and present the consequences if needed. Secondly, the only limits to this freedom are your own boundaries. We'll discuss these beforehand and respect each other. The most important thing is to have fun together and ensure that everyone feels comfortable! So, what are you waiting for?
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

How will character creation work
Ideally, you'll already have an idea for your character. You don't need knowledge of the rules; it's more about the character itself. Who is this person? What species do they belong to, and where do they come from? What brings them to the scene, and what motivates them in life? From that point we will create the characters all at the same time at the end of Session 0, so you can ask for advise when problems or questions occur.
