Monster Hunter's Guild - A Monster of the Week Adventure!

Monster Hunter's Guild - A Monster of the Week Adventure!

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

There is one thing that is certain in the world: So long as there are monsters, there's money to be made hunting them down. You are a member of a band of mercenaries for hire, known as the Monster Hunters Guild. Sourced in the town of Triboar, each mission you will receive a debriefing and be dispatched to hunt down and kill a unique monster. No two missions are ever the same, and while they are never easy, the pay is enough to keep your belly full and your mug overflowing. Each session you will visit a new locale to investigate a problem, which culminates in fighting a legendary creature. The maps and encounters are all personally designed by me! Your character begins at fifth level, and earns gold from each job which can be spent on consumables, upgrades and magic items. The adventure is episodic, and after the end of each "season" of hunts all characters will level up! Fights will be challenging and character death is a real possibility, but I make certain encounters are balanced to be deadly but doable. When fighting the monsters you will engage with custom battle mechanics that create a unique and dynamic challenge! Players of all experience levels are welcome! We are using the updated 2024 rules and content.

Game style

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

Rules as Written (RaW)

Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.

Recruiting notes

Enjoy custom maps and challenging fights, made immersive with liberal use of background music and sound effects!

What I provide

I have prepared a Roll20 campaign with custom maps, immersive background music and sound effects, and totally original combat encounters that will test your mind and your mettle! Sessions are run in our Discord server, which has informational resources and channels to discuss the campaign and ask questions.

Gameplay details

Individual content warnings are communicated to the signed-up players via Discord days prior to the session. All players are welcome to privately or openly discuss their feelings on the content, sharing their lines and veils. During sessions, players are welcome to use X N and O cards in the VTT chat, or freely speak their mind openly or privately at any time during the session. If a player needs to step away for any reason, they are welcome to do so for as long as they need, and can seamlessly rejoin when they are ready.

How will character creation work

Everything sourced from official D&D sourcebooks is allowed! We are using the updated 2024 rules and content, so I ask that characters are made using the most up-to-date options available. For instance, when choosing a class such as Paladin or a species such as Tiefling, use the 2024 versions instead of the legacy versions. All character creation information can be viewed at any time in the Discord server.
