About the adventure

A Death curse spreads across the land. Clerics can no longer revive those presently departed; Necromancers are powerless. Those who had been given another chance of life find themselves withering with each passing night. No magic, prayer or potion has stopped this curse. Mystics speak of turbulent souls in the afterlife. The very rich Syndra Silvane resists her fate and knows of the cause, a powerful artifact located in the jungle peninsula of Chult. The candle of her life shortens each day, and you must hurry. Pack your insect repellent, an old book of notes, a good pair of boots, check your bedroll for snakes, a whip will be useful. You're heading to the jungle! Set in the forgotten realms. This campaign takes you from Lv1 through to Lv11. Along the way you will be moving through dense jungle, dino racing in bustling towns, breaking into mystical tombs and trespassing ruined temples. Choose from a variety of guides to help you, each with their own adgenda.A fully immersive campaign allowing you to live your Lara Croft/Indiana Jones fantasy adventures. - Discover the clues to unlock secret puzzles - Encounter a range of monsters from the relentless undead, sentient plants, surprising snakes and dinosaurs that haven't heard about extinction. - Pry powerful magic items from not-so-lucky adventurers' past. - Battle with villains whose dice rolls will make you shake in fear. Will you restore the balance of life and death, or just become another devoured soul? --- PLAY BY POST ACTIVITY --- PBP are slow but enjoyable. To keep things flowing for everyone, I will make a substantial post every 24-36 hours to move the game along. Between that time, I will pop into the game and answer questions and make comments for fun and help players decide their actions. I ask players if they are done in a certain scene before moving on. Players are asked to post in a similar way. Of course, we understand that sometimes life happens and you don't get the time or headspace to meet this commitment. In which case, your character can pause or be run by someone else. There can be audio summaries in Discord to help you catch up if you miss many things. An impression of time difference in PBP vs live games is 2 hours of live games is approximately 1 month PBP. Players game together happily across different life schedules and time zones.

About me

I specialise in running Dungeons & Dragons adventures and I like to inject a bit of humour into them all. I follow the nr1 rule that "D&D is about having fun!" I have been doing fantasy games all my life and love making stories for others, and enjoy seeing my players interact. I like to get to know my players and their characters and tweek the story to give them something personal to chew on. For my homebrew adventures I like to use popular cultural references in my games, especially when naming monsters (like a quiz) and crazy NPCs. I use Discord, Owlbear Rhodeo and Theatre of the mind with some AI images to make the experience more immersive. I really like running Play-by-Post adventures as we get to know each other over a longer period of timme and on a daily basis. For me running games is like spending time with people who enjoy each others creativity.

Character creation

Creating your character

The campaign starts at level 1 and finishes at level 11 You will have access to all shared resources via the D&D Beyond campaign link to select your species, class, background (2 new backgrounds available), etc. We will be using the new 2024 rules. - Build your character in D&D Beyond - Start at level 1 - Point buy or standard array for stats - Starting equipment - Species and classes available via campaign link - If you have something special in mind, please contact me, it will probably be ok. You will be journeying with this character for quite some time. So I am very happy to work with you to make the PC something you will be happy with.

The current party

We have an Artificier, Bard and a Cleric. The Party is Lv3 and are journeying through the jungle, visiting locations on the world map. They are gathering information towards the quest, finding powerful items, making allies and enemies and completing much-needed side quests to be strong enough for the final liar. PLAY BY POST --------------- The whole campaign is delivered via Discord (story) and Owlbear rodeo (maps). Your DM will post the unfolding story at least once a day (probably more). Players then post their interactions and roleplay, roll dice in D&D Beyond and Discord. The DM then responds, and so the adventure reveals. PBP is great for people who find it hard to meet a regular schedule of games, who like to microdose on D&D daily, and who enjoy writing and getting into roleplaying. or who find they cannot access live of face-to-face games. With a mobile device, you can play anywhere, anytime. The benefits of play-by-post are: - THOUGHTFUL ACTIONS: Take your time considering your optimal combat move or roleplay interaction. - FRIENDSHIPS: Bond with your fellow players as they become a daily presence in your life - CHARACTER BUILDING: Dive deep into your character as you roleplay through text giving as much detail to their thoughts, responses and personality as the campaign builds. - FLEXIBLE GAMING: Play anytime, anywhere with people across different time zones. No more scheduling the group to meet - WORLD BUILDING: Detailed descriptions and A permanent record of what happened in the campaign builds, so no more arguments about what was said - EVERYONE CONTRIBUTES: In this style of group, your voice and actions are always heard and counted. It's not about who is fastest.
