Meet the Game Master
About me
I love RPGs. I love Horror. When I was little, I found (and fell in love with) the VAMPIRE: MASQUERADE books. I had them all - but no one to play with. Tragic. When I grew up and found my calling as an actor - I thought I would take a stab at RPGs by inviting my castmates to play "theatre games" (lol). I found I had quite the knack for GMing. I've been GMing/playing Call of Cthulhu, Pathfinder, Fiasco, Kids on Brooms, They Came From Beyond the Grave and the likes for about 10+ years. As the "organized one" - I've always been a natural GM (lol). Being an actor, my friends are scattered around the globe - so online hosting has been my goto (though I do like a good home game when I can manage it). I like to immerse my players not only with words but photos, maps and soundscapes. I find Roll 20 to be an excellent way to manage and track games - Discord an excellent way to gather players to chat and notetake - and Syrinscape an excellent way to add tension through music/sound - and I hope you will join me in a session or two!

Shaun was a terrific GM - engaging, entertaining, patient, and funny. The game was an absolute blast and four hours went by in a blink. I would encourage anyone who has an interest in CoC to take advantage of his expertise and join a game he runs - you will have an incredible time. If he ever runs a longer and/or paid campaign, I fully expect it to fill up instantly so don't miss out!
Shaun is a fantastic keeper. I could leave it at that. Heβs prepared for everything you can throw at him, and believe me weβve thrown some odd stuff at him. Heβs knowledgeable about not only the system but the setting. Like Arkham is his hometown. Need to buy a gun? Sure go here oh and hereβs a handout of prices. His weekly recaps are absolutely welcome and brings you right back into the action. As far as the running of the game, Shaun is second to none. He gives each NPC their own voice, each feels unique and like a fully fleshed out character. His ability to set a scene and drive tension gives you a sense of urgency when needed, but then he can step back and adapt to slide of life rp. Overall my experience with Shaun has been extraordinary. I canβt recommend him enough to players looking for a game of Cthulu.

How ShaunR creates a safe table
The content warnings detail items that might appear in the game, not items that are guaranteed to appear. Part of our Session 0 will involve going over lines, veils, and other content that the table might wish to avoid or minimize. Players who join mid-game should discuss these topics with me during our One-on-One Session 0. There are certain themes that are central to the text and cannot be avoided. Call of Cthulhu games generally play on themes of body horror and mental illness. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the troubles of our daily lives. Above-table prejudices, including racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia are NOT acceptable at my table and will lead to your immediate removal.
