About the adventure
A game for new players looking for an introduction to the D&D 5e - and veteran players - with a focus on long-duration play using the Curse of Strahd adventure module for D&D 5e. A gothic vampire horror story in a bleak setting, Curse of Strahd has been extremely popular since its first edition; and has enjoyed a lot of attention from the community. Betrayal, murder, abuse, madness, redemption, and the triumph over evil are themes writ large across this adventure. I have personally run this adventure several times with various groups, and am deeply familiar with the ins and outs of its play. If you would like a rules-light, RP focused game, please apply! Creating your character
Character creation can happen with or without the party, on DnDBeyond's application. Session 0 will cover character creation for those players who would rather make their characters with the rest of the party involved - especially considering this is a new-player-friendly game.
The Mists of Barovia is a Curse of Strahd adventure for D&D 5e that runs bi-weekly on Saturday evenings beginning at 10:30pm EST. It is a rules-light, RP-focused game, with plenty of safety tools!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a Discord account, and a DnDBeyond account to play. Optional equipment includes: Microphone, camera, physical RPG dice, and a Steam copy of the Virtual Table Top program "TaleSpire" (A free version of which is now available). Accommodations can be made for folks who do not have or cannot use any of the optional equipment.
What Jaycorn brings to the table
It's my job to bring play material such as maps, and tools to help better visualize the game. Specifically, I will be using Talespire, which I will be able to stream to the players so they may see the play maps.

How Jaycorn creates a safe table
We will have a shared Lines and Veils document where players will add in their preferences - a method that will be discussed in our Session 0, along with gameplay styles, story content, and expectations for the game overall. Safety tools can be used verbally, visually (if we decide to use cameras), or privately over Discord. After each session, players will be encouraged to discuss how they felt about the session, and anything they'd like to change in the future.
