About the adventure

Your team is adrift, and as fuel is low, and patience wears thin, its becomes clear you're not the only people aboard this transport vehicle... Hello Spacefarers, I am taking a dive into a new system and now with a few cinematics under our belt, we're really cooking on how these stories work, especially for new players! With a history in MotW and running horror themes in D&D I am excited to delve into a new system and see where it takes us. We began with the Starter Sets 'Chariot of the Gods' and have added a few more films along the way, some written by me and others taken from official cinematics. Audio will be run through discord and the game itself run through Roll20 where required. I do a comprehensive session 0 for all games I run to cover peoples safety systems and comfort levels with content, but I also encourage clear communication if a new boundary is found in game. I am an Australian-based DM so timezones and daylight savings may affect session times, but as always clear communication will help us get the best out of every session. Dm Bones

About me

G'Day! Josh is my name and having a good game is... my game! I can run games of D&D 5e, Monster of the Week, and will soon run Alien RPG, Monty Python's Co-Corricular Medieval Re-enactment Programme, and the Cowboy Bebop RPG. My experience comes from a few years of running TTRPG's professionally for people with Autism and many years before that writing and performing comedy.

This was my first game with DM Koppo and I have only played a bit of games so far. They are very new player friendly and allow for player discussions during game play. I love that if a question is asked they take the time to explain and provide great answers. They creat an atmosphere that allows for the story to be seen with the mind. They are very detailed and have a great grasp of the rules and mechanics of the game They are running. Will definitely be looking to continue playing more games run by this GM. *Edit* I have been playing with DM Koppo for a few sessions now and I have been having an amazing time. I'm always on the edge of my seat as we play through a session. Every player has always been part of the story and Koppo creates an environment that makes one invested in the story and the world. I highly recommend joining a game with this GM and see for yourself. I'm still pretty new to role playing and I feel ill only get better after every session with Koppo!

Koppo has a lotta passion for the games he runs, and really goes out of his way to really sell his settings and characters. Lost two characters over a few months, which tells me that he knows the Alien RPG pretty damn well.

Josh is such a great GM! You can tell how much time and effort he puts in his setting and characters! He guides players, both new and old, very well whenever they may feel a little stuck. Highly recommend picking up any system with him!

DM Koppo knows what he's doing. He offers an immersive experience that tries to give each player a chance to shine while encouraging individual creativity. He is patient with teaching rules and systems but is able to move the game forward when there is a rules conflict. I recommend him well.

Character creation
Creating your character

Character creation during the opening of our session 0, and subsequently any time a character dies. I encourage in all my games that people build their characters in game with the other players to encourage connectivity between the teams, so please don't come in with a prebuilt character unless discussed with the other players.

The current party

If the listing is 'full' but you are still interested in playing, please feel free to message me and we can work out if I can open another seat, or organise another cinematic at a time that suits us both.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Take a read of any materials you can source online about the Alien RPG, watch suspense horror movies and tv shows and get pumped for a deep space game with your favourite Australian. Knowledge of the Alien universe is totally not required, infact, the less you know the more likely you are to get engrossed in it. But, if you've seen the films and played the video games you will know a little extra of whats going on. You do not need to have a webcam for the game, though you are welcome to have and use it, as I have some players who use them and others who don't. but a clear microphone is definitely required, and given the ambient noise and sound effects I use I suggest some good headphones to block out the world while we play.

What GM Koppo brings to the table

I will provide scenery and layouts on roll20 to keep you visually in the world, background ambient music for immersion, but most of all I will bring you a descriptive world for you to explore, and a story we can all be excited about. After our first few Cinematics I have now developed a pretty big soundboard of music and ambience, aswell as a player soundboard for you to use.

Safety
How GM Koppo creates a safe table

Ultimately, the paths the game goes down is up to you, the players, and the choices your characters make. But, my aim is to cause your characters stress, and you, the player, delight. I like using fear and classic horror movie methods to increase the stakes of gameplay, so you can expect tension and release. Given my background is also in comedy you can expect I will lighten the mood if we ever get too scared as we go. I often attempt to emulate a TV episode kind of feel to my sessions, so expect a long through story connected by 'seasons' as it were as we play along.
