Fantastic first session of Tales From The Loop! Gotta commend Sapperlot for keeping the game flowing, and engaging at all times, which is no easy feat given we played theater of the mind. Also worth mentioning that he is very supportive of player creativity in the best way possible. Can wholeheartedly reccomend playing with him to any newbies and veterans!

She's a great GM who creates an immersive atmosphere at the table, but also is a smidge too fast-paced for my liking

Good ol' D&D - A game with vast amounts of player resources to ensure each and everyone at the table gets to play whatever their heart desires. In my experience, D&D's claims to have three main pillars of gameplay - combat, exploration, and social interaction - can be true, but their ratio is very much dependent on your DM, since a vast majority of its rules are dedicated to combat, which in no way means one has to play it as a pure combat simulator, though it may tempt many a DM into a more combat-heavy play style. Overall, as a player, I think this is a very cool system to play, but if you are more into rules-light or narrative-driven systems, D&D might not be the best fit.

City of Mist

A great cinematic, investigative, modern noire rpg system which seamlessly blends narrative and game mechanics. Son of Oak has made sure that each of their books is riddled with gorgeous, evocative art that immediately pulls one into the more modern noire world of City of Mist, which is a huge plus in my opinion. The mechanics are perfectly tailored for the specific intended play experience, but at the same time allow for easy adaption where needed and/or wanted, all without having the drawbacks of 'do it all'-systems. The rules are very easy to pick up for both MCs and players, especially so when learned via the official introductory case (adventure). The only 'drawback' is that if one is not at all familiar with how to handle some of the more 'loose, adaptable and sometimes even a little situational' parts of the rules, but this is only a minor problem which disappears altogether if one is in the 'right' headspace - playing it as if it's a movie/series and focusing on the narrative, whilst disregarding what doesn't make sense or is not engaging to the players and MC.

Bo's a FOOL I tell you...for giving away all that precious knowledge to us fellow SPG GMs for free! ❤ From what and how he talked about PbP games during the workshop, I can wholeheartedly recommend trying one of his games, there's a good chance you'll love it!😉
