About me
I have been playing TTRPGs since around the time of the release of DnD 3.5, and have since explored numerous systems and approaches to the hobby. I enjoy a roughly even mix of roleplaying, combat, problem-solving, and exploration, and I enjoy my time both behind and in front of the DM/GM screen. These days, I am a nurse working in the surgical field, a husband, and a proud father of two.

Michael has a strong grasp of dramatic storytelling, integrating player-driven plot into his narrative and honoring both callbacks and big plays. His world feels alive and responsive in a way which can be easily lost when an adventure is put on the rails. Players retain agency while also feeling pressured by external events - they exist not in a static world which merely waits for the heroes to intervene, but in a dynamic environment responding to (and sometimes striking back at) the efforts of the players.
Sterling puts on a very tight, engaging game. I have rarely seen a DM who could keep a large, complex combat session moving along briskly while managing many monster/NPCs and still finding time for player improvisation, roleplay, and humor. I showed up expecting a simple and routine combat session, and was left wanting to learn more about the world Sterling is building.
