About me
Hey! My name is Michael, and I love creating worlds, building characters, and telling stories. I also like hosting games with a good balance of RP and combat. I love seeing what kind of shenanigans players can come up with and trying to create genuinely heartfelt moments in the games. If you're looking to push the boundaries of what you can accomplish as a player, I want to play with you.
GM Style
I am a storyteller, first and foremost. I like to run story-driven games built around the player's characters. My games tend to run around 60% RP, 40% combat. My goal is to work together to create an exciting, emotional roller-coaster of a story starring YOU. I do voices for characters. I will let you be the judge of if they are any good, but it helps me keep the NPC's straight in my head to make the world feel more populated. I absolutely love it when players get creative during encounters. To me, a player who is breaking my story is a player who is engaging in the story with me. I also love trying to find creative ways to challenge players, but I despise setting players up for failure. What I do enjoy setting up is jokes and bits. I want to create an environment where, even if someone fails, everyone is still having fun. I also try and set up a lot of genuinely emotional moments. I will try and make you tear up, but my door is always open for players who feel that they need to either talk through the feelings a campaign brought up, or who feel like they need things to be less intense. Finally, I don't tolerate bullies or belittling other players. Intense RP sessions are great, but players who refuse to treat me and their fellow players with respect will be removed from the table.

Michael has been a very kind and patient DM for a bunch of newbies - helping us understand the rules and navigate interactions without dying immediately - and his descriptions and voices have been great -- I'm always completely engrossed into the world :) Would definitely recommend!!

Michael has been great! My 1st real campaign in dnd & first time trying it online. He is great for beginner players and creates an environment where you can ask questions and not feel silly. Also, the rule of cool is true & he makes your ideas play out.

Michael was a great DM for my session with him. He progressed the plot along at a comfortable pace making sure that the party was neither being rushed along nor waiting unnecessarily for the next encounter to occur. He played the NPCs humorously and differing from each other, I always knew who I was talking to and what type of character they were going to be from the way they spoke and the movements that they made. Great session 5/5 stars.
