About Sterling
The best way I know to run the game is by drawing from my life experiences. As an avid outdoorsman, a United States Marine, and now a white collar professional, there is a wide field to draw from. In my opinion, being a game master is one of the most fun ways to play the game. Crafting a world where I can help my friends experience being the hero (or the villain) is the highlight. To be fair, I never even considered playing D&D most of my life. But once I was introduced, I was hooked.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Outdoors, preferably in the water or mountains. I also spend as much time as I can with my beautiful wife and adorable puppy. Yes, I have become sappy since getting married and retiring from the military.
How Sterling runs games
As a GM, I love to craft the different encounters. These can be social encounters, interrogations, traps and puzzles, and of course combat. If possible, I like to craft each encounter to at least one player character's strengths. That way, they can be the hero that day. Anything more than a one-shot, having specific tailored magic items for player characters is a lot fun. I like to see how I can enhance their what they do well, while also allowing them a chance to play in a different way. I have found that custom magic items, feats, and abilities are a great way to enhance a player's game experience. World building is also important to me. The players obviously will explore whatever they want. If they want a more in depth analysis of the world and its history and lore, I have it ready to go.
Sterling's ideal table
I think a good table experience relies on a good understanding of the type of game we want to play. For me, an ideal table has people who are happy to share what type of game they are looking for and willing to adapt when the need arises.
