About me
Hi there! My name is Sean, and I've been running regular games of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition since 2018. Between 2018 and 2020 I was a DM for Adventurers League, running 185 hours worth of games; and since then I've gone on to running games professionally. I've run games for conventions, for children, and even for mental health clinics! However, my time with role-playing games goes back a lot further. My first RPG was Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition (I played a half-elf bard;) and I both extensively ran and wrote for White Wolf Games Studios during the 3rd edition era. (I wrote Hammer & Klaive and Tribebook: Glass Walkers Revised for Werewolf: The Apocalypse; and contributed to the Hunter: The Reckoning Player's Guide and Storyteller's Handbook for Hunter the Reckoning, along with some other work.) My belief is that games are, at their heart, about creating an experience and ensuring all players get to have that experience. My favourite book on Game Mastering is Robin's Laws of Good Game Mastering. I think the best RPG of recent memory is Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast. Brian Murphy is the most under-rated DM on the planet.

Dana did a wonderful job of facilitating the game we played, making everyone feel welcome and clearly setting boundaries. As a role-player she did an amazing job of inhabiting characters, making them distinct and real. I think she'd be in particular a phenomenal GM for a first time player, able to clearly and cleanly explain concepts while making everyone feel valued. Highly recommended.
Matt has some of the best setting and environmental description I've ever encountered from any DM, ever. I definitely picked up a bit of Matt Mercer inspiration in the way he sets scenes. He takes his time with session zeroes, treats player safety with the respect it deserves, and wants to make sure that characters come together and have interesting inter-party dynamics. Recommended as a DM!
Dave provides evocative, well written play-by-post games and is generous and forgiving to players while also being clear enough to provide boundaries where needed. He's responsive to player requests and clearly favours improvisational approaches and treats the rules as an aid, not a straightjacket. He does a fantastic job at creating a sense of space and tone. Highly recommended.
