About Dave
Hi! I'm Dave, an actor and avid D&D player from Bonnie Scotland. I've been playing 5e for 5 years now, and while I've grown very fond of the system, I've dipped my toe in other games such as Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart and Kids on Bikes! I generally focus on narrative over mechanical crunch, but my top priority at any table is the enjoyment and engagement of the players. The story can't be told without you or the dice - are you ready to begin your next chapter?

When I'm not running games I'm...
Reading, playing video games (big fan of Zelda and Pokemon!) or going on walks.
How Dave runs games
I tend to focus more on the combat and roleplaying aspects of TTRPGs over exploration. I generally try to make combat encounters as exciting and challenging as I can, though I understand that's not everybody's cup of tea. I'll always endeavour to set expectations during session 0 and throughout the game, so we'll all be on the same page. While I love creating memorable NPCs and making a fool of myself in the process (voices, mannerisms etc.) I understand not everybody is that willing to come out of their shell, especially those brand new to roleplaying! Again, I'll set expectations during session 0, but your comfort and safety are important. I'm always open to unique and inventive solutions to problems! If you've got an idea, even if you don't think it's a very good one or likely to work, I will 100% be in your corner. The rules should be bent to serve the narrative, not the other way around. And hey, even if things don't work out, we'll have a good time!
