For a little over a year, I’ve had the absolute delight of being able to write alongside Dave as fellow players in a different campaign. Now, I get to see him weave the plot for us as the GM. He’s an incredible wordsmith, painting the world around us with unforgettable characters and interactions, as well as encouraging our own creativity to flourish.

Dave is a fantastic writer, something I’ve known for a while through various experiences even before he started hosting games on StartPlaying. So when the opportunity arose to join one of his campaigns, I was more than ready. Even though our play-by-post game has only just begun, it has already started with a pleasant focus, clear descriptions, and well-structured responses. Setting this game in the Critical Role universe has given Dave the chance to showcase his impressive knowledge of the setting. As I created my character, I found myself learning more about the world than I could have from reading the wiki for hours. I imagine the same is true for any other settings he runs. Beyond his talents as a GM, Dave is a joy to be around—both incredibly personable and genuinely kind. He fosters a strong sense of connection, ensuring that players feel heard and valued.
