About Dana

Greetings, traveler! If you’re on the hunt for a GM who puts story and character front and center, and who prioritizes fun at the table for novices and veterans alike, then hey! Pull up a chair. We might just click. I’ve been GMing for over a quarter of my life—7 years, to be exact. Dungeons & Dragons 5e is my bread and butter, but I’ve got a soft spot for narrative gems like Alice is Missing, The Witch is Dead, and Ten Candles. I usually run games on Roll20 with Discord as a home base for sessions, chatter, and community. While I’m most experienced with sprawling, multi-year campaigns, I adore punchy one-shots and mini-campaigns just as much. My philosophy is simple: build the game around the players. Every table gets a Session 0 so we can carve out the tone, set boundaries and goals, and figure out your big character dreams. Your characters are the protagonists, and I take a lot of joy in crafting personal story arcs for them to weave into the heart of the adventure. My tables are open to players of all identities and backgrounds. Everyone deserves dignity, safety, and a damn good time. Let’s tell some stories together soon!

How Dana runs games

I run roleplay-heavy, character-driven games that take the story seriously without taking the table too seriously. Expect a good balance of emotional moments and table banter, with most of our time spent in-character and invested in who your characters are and what they care about. Player choice matters a lot in my stories. I actively encourage decisions that derail my prep in the name of strong character choices, and I’m comfortable improvising on the fly to follow where your characters lead. I prep session-by-session, focusing on character arcs and letting the world evolve in response to your actions. Mechanically, I use the rules to ground the world, but I’m generous with rulings and happy to lean into the rule of cool when it serves a stronger story. Reflavoring and narrative tweaks are welcome. Character death is rare unless narratively earned, but when the dice speak, I make sure the moment matters. Above all, I aim to run fair, flexible games where players feel listened to, respected, and excited to tell meaningful stories together.

My games focus on...

having a fun time! You're the main characters, and your actions should matter. I do my best to encourage player agency and foster emotional depth.

Rules are...

a guideline to keep a game grounded and fair, but not the end-all-be-all of storytelling.

Dana's ideal table

I love players who are excited to bring their ideas to the table and have a good time—whether that be for character creation, worldbuilding, or roleplaying. While I like to foster deep emotional moments and meaningful connections between characters in-game, I'm a fan of banter and memes out-of-game! While my goal is to make you feel like the main character of your story, the best players at my tables are ones who know when and how to uplift others at the table when it's their turn to shine.
