After falling out of love with Vampire: The Masquerade for 6 months straight, David's GMing has brought me back in. They manage to perfectly balance several PC stories while interweaving them with the main plot, making every session feel cohesive and fluid. A lot of fun, and I'm excited to keep going with them.
I can't really give them a proper rating since I never played with them. I signed up for a game, the discord link provided was broken so I DMed them for a working one, and then proceeded to hear absolutely nothing from them (or the rest of the group for that matter) for an entire week. I just left cause I mean, what am I supposed to do? They might be really good at GM'ing, but I have no idea cause I got absolutely nothing from them. Edit: 2 hours after this review, after a week of no communication, they flagged it. Changing this from a 3-star review to a 1-star for the lack of communication and scummy abuse of the flagging system.
When I first put up this review, Andy flagged it despite there being no false information present, and I had to contact support and send in screenshots to get it unblocked. I am now Updating this review to be more concise. Andy was no slouch as a GM, but as a person he was lacking. He was quick to anger, refused to talk out issues like an adult, and actively ignored the safety tools he himself put in place when he was upset (Specifically, he ignored an X-Card and refused to update my Lines and Veils). He made decisions based on harmful stereotypes about mental health, treating me differently when he found out I had a personality disorder, and when questioned he paraded his "20 years of medical knowledge" around like that simply made him right. Ignoring the fact that mental health is not an inherently medical field, Andy works in the veterinarian field. I don't think I need to explain the differences in Veterinary Medicine and Psychopathology. I don't think I need to explain how this is a dishonest attempt at a power-play. Tangential to that, he talks big about having a degree in VFX, but he uses AI for almost all of "his" creations. You may have differing views on AI, but I find that lazy and dishonest. As it stands, I recommend passing on Andy's games. His behavior towards me bordered on immaturity, and I know I'm not the only player that had issues with Andy, as I've seen at least two previous players get kicked out of his games due to issues. Avoid Andy, and save yourself your money, your time, and your patience.
