The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. First the Good: When Wolf is DM'ing he is a good storyteller and uses music and vivid descriptive language to set the stage. He likes to start with ice breakers, and a quick recap of what happened last. He also doesn't mind if you forget something (what was that lady with the red hats name again?). Wolf always tries to make sure everyone is included in the "goings on" so that they have something to do (meanwhile across town...). If something does come up, he will try to help and try to address it or facilitate a discussion to take care of it (possible change in campaign, for example). He is also a friendly and personable guy. The Bad: My experience with Wolf is only with adventure paths, Mummies Mask and Skull and Shackles, one book each (campaigns overlapped for a while). Unfortunately he has a difficult time balancing/ modifying encounters that are written into the paths to the parties composition. It is was not uncommon for him to blame the path for the difficulty of the encounter. He also seemed to "play adversarial", i.e. "DM vs. players", often playing the monster/ bad guys more intelligently, or more coordinated than they should. Example: A players 5th level flying eidolon was scouting through a fog bank and then spotted the ghost ship at its center. The eidolon was immediately shot by about a dozen cannons using grapeshot. The ghost ships crew was apparently ready, and waiting to fire the barrage almost straight up with their "readied actions with siege weapons". Needless to say, the eidolon died before all of the cannons got through firing. The Ugly: Wolf is incredibly inconsistent. It has been an ongoing challenge in both games, since last year. He would often cancel games with about an hour notice before the game, and this happened several times for two weeks in a row. We (the players) tried to be understanding, because "life happens sometimes". We tried to address it with him, and it was better for a time, before becoming inconsistent again. The final issue, was that instead of trying to work with us (the players) when the game time stopped working for him, he quit mid-game session, and then later cancelled the campaign. Not something that you would expect from a "professional" DM. It was very difficult updating my review of Wolf, because he is a nice guy, and I like him, but I felt that it is important for players to know what to expect, especially when you are paying for a professional.
