This review is based on my experience as a Blades in the Dark player with DC. DC is patient and attentive in making sure I get out of the game what I want. He’s proactive in his approach to implement my ideas in the campaign, and responds with his own ideas that are well thought-out and genuine attempts at complementing my input. This has led to improvements on my character concept on a number of occasions. My impression is that DC is focused on deriving value from the dialogue between him as a GM and us as players. The option to have a conversation is always on the table, both one-on-one and in the group setting. I believe he’s incredibly beginner-friendly in his attitude but rewards players with more experience.
Incredibly beginner-friendly GM; you’ll be hard pressed to find a more accommodating organizer. After superficial exposure to D&D 3.5 in my youth, I decided to join Nemesis’s World’s Largest Dungeon campaign. It’s been a great experience for easing back into a complex system, where rule of cool prioritizes the flow of gameplay over ‘getting it right’ (which can be a genuine obstacle in 3.5’s often vague text maze). That said, Nemesis has been nothing but patient while indulging my incessant rules-questions about the nitty gritty of the 3.5 ruleset in my attempts to re-acquaint myself with the system through my artificer character. I’ve always received an answer and have never been met with resistance. Can genuinely recommend for an easy-going gameplay experience permeated by a cooperative, can do-attitude.
