I saw someone on Ben's page mention that they were disappointed that they couldn't pick more than three tags and now I know exactly what they mean! I would mass select all of these for him, if I could. Even though it barely scratches the surface of what he brings to the table, I went with "good for beginners" because I, myself, am a relative beginner in the tabletop medium and, despite being a seasoned roleplayer through other avenues, was incredibly nervous to pick up a set of dice in a group of people with varying degrees of experience. Not so, at all, anymore! Ben made me feel SO comfortable both within our group and as I've been learning the mechanics/details/etc. His help and guidance have been invaluable and I could not be more grateful that he was the one to assist me in busting in to this grand world. I also have to highlight how much I value his valuing of player creativity - every time I've discussed character creation with him, he's always had the most amazing approach of, "Okay, tell me about the character you want to play, and we'll figure out what makes sense for them race/class/etc. based on what you want to do." As someone who has a wide repertoire of characters I'd love to port into D&D settings, this was an awesome way to go about it for me. Sure, he knows "the rules", but more importantly, he knows how to make them work for you and your character, no matter what you come up with, so you can have the most fun and fulfilling time possible. While I didn't pick it to tag, I think it's also important to note his approach to inclusivity and safety. We just started running Strahd with the intention of living it up to its full horror potential and one of his first steps before we began was to have us fill out an incredibly detailed (in the best way!!) consent form, so he could be aware of any Hard or even just soft No's for us, regarding what can be included. His stance of not including any real-world equivalent of prejudice/hate already makes for an incredible sigh of relief and then doubly so, when you see how dedicated he is to making sure everyone can be clear about their boundaries and concerns, both before and during the games. You will feel comfortable knowing that your comfort is a top priority. So, tl;dr: if you're looking for accommodation, creativity, guidance, enthusiasm, patience, collaborative storytelling at its best, dynamic in-character interaction (full-blown improv, if you're brave enough!), engaging detail, and ridiculously hot NPCs, then you absolutely want a spot at Ben's next table.
