streetshaman has been a great a DM. His knowledge of Forgotten Realms lore and the adventures he's running makes him ready to answer pretty much any questions I have. After every session he asks for feedback and he clearly takes feedback seriously, often making changes as soon as the very next session. He's also got some of the best NPC voices I've heard, they're all memorable and express a lot of personality. He's a friendly DM and I'm looking forward to continuing to play with him.

tl;dr: If having an established aspect of your character be retconned without your consent isn't a problem for you then you'll probably have fun. I played with Paul for a couple months and it was good for most of that time. The games were fair and even used a handful of mechanics that I don't often see. During character creation, I made a human wizard and specified that mechanically she would be a fighter/warlock multiclass as that fit how I wanted her to play. None of what I wrote got flagged when I made the character. A while into the game I got a critical fumble and was told that the result of the fumble was that my patron was upset with me and I could no longer use that cantrip. The penalty was simple enough mechanically but was narratively inconsistent with my character, so I asked if we could reflavor it. As she doesn't have a patron and instead has her magic through studying, I expected to hear back that it could simply be reflavored to her bumping her head during the fumble and forgetting the spell's somatic components or something similar. What followed was a particularly confusing conversation in which I was explicitly told that I *could* reflavor it while simultaneously having it explained to me that I *couldn't* reflavor it. It seemed that the fact that she has her magic through knowledge, an aspect of her character that was core to who she is, had been retconned without my consent. When I attempted to push back on that I was kicked from the game and the server. To be clear, the dispute was solely with the narrative and had no bearing on gameplay. Given my experience, I would suggest that if you're solely interested in the game aspect of DnD then you'll find what you're looking for here; the mechanics are solid and consistent and you might even learn some of the lesser known ones. If, on the other hand, you want to be invested in the characters and the roleplay then I would suggest you look elsewhere; playing here you might end up stuck playing a character you didn't write.

In the time I've played with Geldhart he's been a fantastic DM. The game I've been in has had frequent combat while still having plenty of opportunity to roleplay. He comes to every session prepared and has been easy to reach whenever I have gameplay or story questions outside of our usual session times. Most of all, I've been impressed by how well he's weaved my character into the world, both making her backstory relevant and giving an in universe reason for the changes she went through when we swapped to the 2024 rules. The adventures with him have been great and I'm looking forward to more in the future.

I've been playing in Luke's games for well over a year now and it's always a good time. He comes to every session prepared and makes sure that every player gets a chance to shine. The games I've played with him have been accessible for new players without being limiting to experienced players. I've also enjoyed discussing GMing and Foundry tips with him as well as some homebrew balance discussions. I highly recommend joining his games if you can.
