Wow! I often play one-shots to the point that I prefer one-shots or a one-shot series over campaigns. If you're like me or want to play a highly tactical playstyle, I highly suggest playing Kevin. The DM's voices, flow of play, and balance of difficulty were spot-on and made playing enjoyable.
Worth your time as a one-shot DM! As a serial one-shotter who has played with many one-shot DMs, I am very picky about who I play with and shrewd with my reviews. Matthew is entertaining, brings in rules when needed, and embraces a rule-of-cool mentality. He kept the session momentum moving while avoiding the feeling of slogging through a dull session. Even though I came into the beginning of his career as an SPG DM, you can tell you has great potential to do well in the one-shot arena. I would not say the same for all one-shot DMs, but I will likely return for Matthew's one-shot series.
Look no further if you would like to invest your time into a good GM! I am a player who is highly critical of GMs and I only return to sessions with a high caliber of skills. I will absolutely be returning for more of Sam’s games! I was thoroughly impressed by Sam’s GM’g abilities, creativity, and management of a session in the one-shot series format. They mentored the newer players, kept things moving, cultivated the Rule of Cool, mitigated mechanics issues, and wrapped up a session with closure & mystery for more.
I loved that it follows the world of the Magi and Sinbad and the 1001 Arabian Knights. Cara makes a safe and fun atmosphere that is also deep with short & long-term strategies for players. The endings of her one-shots can be a surprise, but if you're up for a challenge, this adds a different dimension to RPGs. I would encourage players to join for Cara's ability to keep the story as a blend of light, deep, and rich.
