Brandon is a very good GM. I'm two sessions into my 2nd FFG/Edge Star Wars campaign with him. The first campaign ran for about 26 sessions, and I'm excited about what I'm seeing for this 2nd SW campaign thus far! Brandon is inclusive, empathetic, patient, funny, creative, a good story teller, creates believable NPCs, and he will challenge the PCs with interesting encounters. His GM style is mostly theater of the mind, and you can expect a good mixture of RP, exploration, and combat. He doesn't like to bog down the game with long travel times but likes to fast forward to the fun/interesting parts quickly. He's also not one of those "gotcha" GMs if you forget a detail or don't say your character did something that assuming character competence your character would do.
A very fun Kids on Bikes one shot that was holiday themed! Loved the music/soundscapes and visual aids--maps, key NPCs. A good mixture of theater of the mind and visual aids. The GM creates a safe and inclusive environment for all and wants to make sure that everyone is having a good time and has their time in the spotlight.
I'm in a The One Ring 2e campaign with GM Jack. He knows the lore deeply and therefore puts a lot of love into the campaign giving the players an engaging story that has a real Tolkien world feel to it. He also has a good command of the rules and is committed to providing an inclusive and safe environment for all. Looking forward to our next session!
I highly recommend DM Candle. I loved how he brought our character backstories into the game to make a fun story even better. Terrific maps, NPC handouts, and music/sound effects were used during the sessions. He also does good NPC voices. You can tell that he puts a lot of thought and love into the campaign to make it something special.
