About me

Long time player (20+ years) with experience in multiple systems (D&D 3.5 and up, Pathfinder 2e, Shadowrun, Vampire: the Masquerade, Werewolf: the Apocalypse). Have GM experience in D&D 3.5 and 5. Like a mix of role play, combat and puzzle solving. Also like to make non-archetypical characters such as Rogues that don't steal things and Fighters that spec in Intelligence or Wisdom instead of Strength. Also like playing out the dice roll.. for instance if I get a 3 while rolling for ability scores during character gen I'm inclined to keep it and see where it leads, or if I get a long streak of crap dice rolls during combat I'll factor that into my characters development (disfavor with his god, didn't kiss his lucky skipping stone, ate a bad meal at the inn so goes back to punch the cook, etc). At the end of the day, I believe the dice are a tool to spice up the story, and I dislike rolling dice just to calculate the result.

My preferences

I like to play...

Dungeons & Dragons 5e
Pathfinder 2e
Shadowrun
Vampire: The Masquerade (2nd Edition)
Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition
Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition

Nikki has done a great job building her homebrew "kingdom builder" campaign in the 5th Edition ruleset. She strikes a good balance between the combat and RP elements of the game, and encourages players to get creative with their characters by allowing for just the right amount of "Rule of Cool".

Chad's Xarthage campaign is amazingly well thought out and developed. There's so much lore to explore, and we as a party have been given such empowerment to go explore it. Every session has been an enjoyable experience, with a good balance of storyline, character development, and combat. Chad is very knowledgeable about the rules for D&D and does a good job of accommodating the "Rule of Cool" when players have fun and creative action that stretches some of those rules, without breaking the mechanics of the game. At one point I was playing in several campaigns a week with different GMs, and this is easily my favorite campaign of the bunch and one of the most enjoyable GM experiences I've had in 20+ years of gaming.
