Rime of the Frostmaiden (New Player Friendly)
About the adventure
Winter has gripped Icewind Dale for 2 years now in an endless and unnatural Icy Grip. This campaign sees adventurers exploring the frozen expanses of the region, attempting to lift the curse that has locked Icewind Dale into a deeper cold and darkness than ever before. Artifacts of an ancient netherese city pose new and unexpected dangers and if that wasn't enough for you, rumors tell of a strange dragon set to destroy the Ten Towns of Icewind dale. The campaign has multiple endings, and how events unfold falls entirely on the choices of the player characters. This session is for players aged 17+, and will be a mix of about 50% roleplay and 50% Combat, though this of course can fluctuate depending on the party's actions in any situation.

About me
I'm a 5e DM and have been for 4 years now, and have a years worth of experience running games professionally for new and veteran players alike. Honestly I wish I'd discovered DnD alot earlier in life than I did. I've mostly been a forever DM so have been running at least one game a week ever since I first picked up the DMG 4 years ago., with me ending up running 2-3 sessions a week being a very common occurrence. I have a discord used for the purpose of running sessions and allowing players to more easily keep tabs on my games, if you're wondering whether my sessions are for you then please feel free to hop into the discord and talk with some of the group, I'm certain you'll find yourself right at home with us. https://discord.gg/9KDsGJx

Had a little bit of trouble running FGC app, bit WINE eventually managed. As for gameplay - It will be what you make of it, and dare i say, we did great. Worldbuilding is solid, world feels reactive and authentic yet at least one way towards the endgoal is always clear. Totally signing up for a campaign, and trying to sell this format of teambuliding/english practice in my organisation. P.S. My IRL friends are getting jealous and started setting up a session for us, which is also awesome :3
its hard to add anything that hasn't already been said. One thing that hasn't been mentioned before is that he is good at dealing with player conflict. he keeps the game moving and will talk to both parties after and will find a solution, even if that means booting the troublesome player. As for my own experience, Grumpy was the one that introduced me to the hobby. He helped me as a player and later with his encouragement, as a GM. He's the best GM ive met.
Maurice is one of the best dm's ive played with in a while. every game always brings a lot of fun and his attention to detail is staggering. The sessions always feel really detailed without being over the top and the level at which Grumpy will work with you on your characters backstory and bring it into the campaign or plot really makes the game just that more enjoyable Over all grumpy is a great DM with plenty of years of experience and a lot of fun. if your into making characters with rich backstory's he's the one for you.
I started playing online dnd about five years ago. I came over a west marches campaign where i played for a while when grumpy started dming. The sessions were rough and a times seemed a bit impossible, they were fair and we the players did make mistakes, but there was times he as a dm made mistakes. He did however as any good dm not shy away from admitting to those mistakes and improve upon his own skills. He left the server a while back and me and some other players have been playing multiple campaigns with him as a dm and some where he is a player. His dming skills have been honed and it has been a joy to play in his campaign. The newest campaign feels like a breathing and living world where whatever shenanigans we are up he helps us along and puts on realistic and tough challenges for us to overcome. Everything from politics to fights are well balanced, its rough but fair and always has a solution. I highly recommed grumpy as a dm!

How Maurice creates a safe table
Gameplay in this session will consist of medium-high difficulty combat and an equal measure of roleplay. Players are expected to be respectful of their fellow PCs, and some light joking over the course of the adventure is absolutely encouraged. After all, the point of DnD is for everyone to have fun.
