About Terrano
|General Info| I’m a Game Master who naturally gravitates toward guiding roles. Think of concepts like the Shepard or the Shaman; the storyteller walking alongside you rather than standing in your way. My tables are never Party vs. GM. At worst, I’m a neutral antagonist running the enemies, but make no mistake: I’m always rooting for my players to succeed. I use NPCs as tools to enrich the story, sometimes offering support but never stealing the spotlight. And if you do meet someone who feels like an overpowered DMPC… well, you should probably expect something tragic. As a military veteran, I’ve seen some of humanity’s darkest moments. That experience has only served me by making me become more empathetic. TTRPGs, for me, are more than just dice and battles. They’re a way to explore, heal, and grow. In game of course, but hopefully just as much IRL too. I love giving players the chance to work through real struggles through their characters, all while wrapped in epic adventures full of humor, heart, and cinematic drama. |What to Expect at My Table| Strange NPCs with questionable motives to keep you guessing. Tactical, creative, and thus challenging combats that reward thinking outside the box. A living universe centered on your characters' backstories that gets deeper the more you dig. Epic stories with plenty of space for humor, tragedy, and achievement. |Touching Grass| When I’m not GMing, you’ll usually find me hiking, reading, gaming, lifting at the gym, or getting lost in some chill music.

How Terrano runs games
|STYLE| At my table, the story always comes first. Not because I’m forcing it through a railroad, but because I know and trust the dice to naturally create a narrative. All of the tensions from a bad roll, the unexpected fleeing of triumph from a clutch success, the fallout of unexpected consequences leaving you absolutely speechless... imo that’s just always where the best stories come alive. To help players truly feel immersed in the setting of a new world, I will always hold a 1 hour(ish) 1-on-1 session with each player during character creation. This guarantees their actions will leave a lasting impact on the world the story takes place in...for better or for worse. I tend to prefer systems that don’t let you hand-wave away consequences through excessive access to re-rolls and result fixing. It's undeniable that scars and setbacks make for richer stories. That said, I wouldn't say I quite neglect the other pillars of play: |COMBAT| Expect tactical battles where your choices matter. My favorite sessions are those when the “perfect" plan falls apart or an epic confrontation takes place and suddenly it seems the dice have decided to betray you... yet somehow the party barely scraps by and makes it out alive. Wiser, scarred, and hopefully laughing about it soon afterward. I’ll often flex rules in your favor, not to make things easy, but only so I can turn up the challenge dial and keep you on your toes. (Yes, homebrewing will happen.) |EXPLORATION| I have never and probably will never run a pre-written module. I will often take inspiration from broad strokes of lore or different media, but my worlds are always built 'with' the party. I lay the foundation, but we shape the universe together as you choose to ask important questions and dig deeper.
