About Sonneillon V.
I started running Vampire: the Masquerade twenty-six years ago and have been expanding my expertise ever since! I've run every D&D edition from AD&D through 5.5e, and a wide variety of other games ranging from Call of Cthulu to TMNT And Other Strangeness, Buffy, Firefly, etc. I run D&D clubs for the school district, local game stores, and at conventions.

I became a GM because
I enjoy telling stories, building worlds, and exploring character interactions. I sometimes write fiction as a hobby, but most of my creative energy goes into gaming.
How Sonneillon V. runs games
I like to focus on character development and roleplay. I design and run challenging combats, I love problem-solving challenges, puzzles, and riddles, and I do my best to create settings that make sense internally and have a stable logic. I am flexible with regard to difficulty, since I know different groups value different things. One of my quirks is that I'm a bit of a foodie, and I love designing unique places for players to eat, with in-world menus for additional immersion.

I prep by
... Keeping files on each PC with their passive stats, magic items, important spells or abilities that might affect combat tactics, and most importantly their goals, NPC connections, and plot hooks!
My games focus on...
... the characters! While the world and the plot are looming over them, I'm most interested in the growth and dynamic of the party and how they choose to interact with NPCs and situations.
Sonneillon V.'s ideal table
My table style is collaborative, unhurried, and character-focused. I'm not the enemy; we're telling a story together. I like to leave ample space for role-playing and interactions, and encourage players to explore immersive details that make the setting more visceral. Player buy-in is important to me. If you invest in my setting and I invest in your character, we should both have a satisfying experience!

I love it when a player
... takes responsibility for their own character and its integration into the world. Tell me who your parents were, tell me how you learned that ability, tell me why you think growing up in this environment should affect how you behave now. When you think of these things, I don't have to ;)
I think min/maxing...
... is fine if you're willing to buy into it fully. Play out that -2 Intelligence. Play out that -2 Strength. Show me what kind of person would end up with these qualities, and how that affects other areas of their life and relationships!
