About Soap

Hi there, and well met! I started playing TTRPGs in the pandemic and fell in love with the storytelling. I have been GM'ing various systems (5e, Alice is Missing, Monster of the Week, Magical Kitties Save the Day, etc) for 5+ years, and sometimes even run at conventions. My DM style is very narrative driven and roleplay heavy. I love helping new players learn the game and try out new systems!

I got started GMing...

In the pandemic. After we lost the GM who taught us fairly early on, I realized we would not play if someone did not step up to GM. So I did, and I have been ever since.

How Soap runs games

I prefer a narrative, explorative, story-driven style of play. I am generally a pretty flexible DM, and I do reward creative solutions. When combat happens (which it probably will in systems like 5e), I like it to be cinematic rather than a number-crunch. My goal is to guide you and we build a story together. Additionally, I believe in the 'rule of cool' so if you wanna do something wacky, I will probably allow it as long as it makes sense. If this sounds good to you, welcome to the table!
