About Yuthika 'Fey'

Hi, I'm Yuthika, but most people at the table call me Fey. I have been a GM for 34 years, starting at age 12 in Kyoto, Japan, where my introduction to the hobby came not through the mainstream but through Call of Cthulhu and Sword World. That Japanese TableTalk culture, テーブルトークRPG, is the DNA of everything I run: focused, atmospheric, and deeply immersive. I am also a voice actress with anime and video game credits, and every NPC at this table has a distinct voice and personality to match. I learned this craft in the crunchy crucible of the early 90s, and that history informs how I choose systems and build stories. I have run enough systems to know that the worst sessions come from forcing the wrong tool onto the wrong story. A love story does not need a hit point tracker. A horror game does not need an experience grind. Finding the system that disappears into the fiction is half the design work, and I have spent three decades collecting the options. Professionally I hold a PhD in Psychology and work as an educator. Whether I am managing a classroom or a VTT in deep space, I bring a teacher's patience and a designer's eye to every session. Every player at my table gets character-specific hooks woven into the narrative. You will feel seen here. I am a skill collector. Over the years I have worked as a costume designer and VFX artist on NBC's Grimm, taught foam latex and silicone prosthetic application and stage makeup blending on the convention circuit, restored a sailboat from the hull up, and sailed it around the world. Every one of those skills comes back to the table. I see a body horror scene through a practical effects lens. I read a transformation scene the way I would build one. I pace a slow-rising tension the way you pace a night watch in open water. Different trades, different media, the same craft: presence, pacing, and the instinct to make a scene feel real. I do not run D&D or Pathfinder. If you have been looking for a GM who runs the systems you actually want to play, you are in the right place. I am also a TTRPG designer and co-creator of Visions of Suaykalpa, an upcoming Southeast Asian mythology RPG launching on Kickstarter this year.

I got started GMing...

Third session, Call of Cthulhu, Kyoto. Arc ended with a player breaking down, not over their Investigator but over a pet cat with no stat block. That moment taught me what shared fiction actually does: it creates the conditions for a catharsis that only exists because the experience was co-created.

People are always surprised when I tell them

I ran Fantasy Grounds sessions while circumnavigating the globe on a Hans Christian 39. I had a full game collection aboard. The sea took some of the books eventually, mould is undefeated on open water, but the games never stopped. This hobby has been a social lifeline for the entirety of my life.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Inclusive, immersive, and uncompromising. My players would also say I treat every game like it matters, because it does. GMing is one of my social love languages. I run games to help others lose themselves in a character and a world, and I do not stop until that moment lands.

How Yuthika 'Fey' runs games

At my table you can expect rich characterization, full voice acting for every NPC, a Rule of Cool philosophy, and a world that breathes. I am a roleplay-centric GM. The dice matter, but the story matters more. Combat should serve the narrative, not drive it, and I favor success with complications over hard fails when failure would feel arbitrary rather than earned. My worlds are sandbox-themepark hybrids. There is always an overarching narrative and factions with their own agendas, but your characters drive the plot. Time moves. Hooks expire. The world does not wait and does not reset between sessions. Every full campaign begins with Session 0 because the table is built before the first die is rolled. Your comfort, your concept, and your investment in the story all matter before we begin. I am always open to constructive feedback. This is a collaborative art form and your joy at the table is of paramount importance to me.

My games focus on...

Roleplay, exploration, and combat, in that order. My games run on atmosphere, cultural authenticity, and the slow build of trust between characters. I want players chasing the next session because of what their character is becoming, not just what they are fighting.

Rules are...

Guidelines that serve the players, not the other way around. I value system rules as shared common ground but I will never let them get in the way of a great moment. Once we, as a table come to an agreement on a ruling, I keep it. Consistency matters at my table.

When it comes to voices

"Yes, I do voices." Robin Williams said it better than I ever could. As a credited voice actress with anime and video game experience, English, Japanese, Thai, and French to make a character feel like they walked in from another world, voices are one of the most polished skills I bring to the table.

Yuthika 'Fey''s ideal table

My table is a place of collaborative storytelling rooted in the Japanese Tabletalk tradition. If you love deep immersive storylines, satisfying character growth arcs, and richly voiced NPCs, you will feel at home here. Outside the table I am an educator and a performer, and I bring those skills together to make sure every player finds their moment. Even the quiet ones. Especially the quiet ones. --- Attendance and Cancellation Policy - 24-Hour Rule: Cancel or skip with at least 24 hours notice and you will not be charged, or your fee rolls to the next session. - Late Cancellations: Cancellations within 24 hours are still charged. At that point prep is complete, the VTT is locked, and the seat cannot be filled. -Emergencies: Life happens. Communicate when you are safely able to and we will work it out. -Quorum: Sessions run with the minimum number of players present. Absent characters fade safely into the background until you return.

I am for a vibe that's...

The feeling of a novel you cannot put down, where your character is the one the story refuses to let go of. The moment where you forget you are playing a character and start making decisions as them. That edge where the fiction and the real blur just enough to make the catharsis mean something.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Niche systems, atmospheric horror, Japanese and Southeast Asian settings, the World of Darkness, the Cosmere, and games that ask something of you emotionally. If you have been looking for a table that runs what you actually want to play rather than what everyone defaults to, this is it.

My perfect party mix is

Players who come in with a concept they love and the willingness to let it be changed by the story. One lore obsessive, one chaos agent, one quiet player with devastating emotional depth, and someone who will absolutely make the wrong choice at the worst moment for entirely valid character reasons.
