About NephthysNile

Hi there! I've been playing and running games for close to 20 years. Predominantly a Storyteller for Vampire the Masquerade (V5), I also enjoy D&D and other game systems. I enjoy facilitating collaborative world building with players, and making a safe space to learn how to play, explore role playing, advanced mechanics, and generally have a fun time. I really love helping people who are new to TTRPGs learn how to make a characters, what their character sheets mean, and how to translate a character sheet into fun and exciting choices in game. I'm available for custom requests! If there's a VtM setting you've wanted to explore, or if you have a group of kindred looking to celebrate a special event, I would be honoured to help craft an experience to remember. Drop me a DM here and we can work it out together.

I became a GM because

there are stories out there to be told, and I like to facilitate fun for folks.

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be

Vampire the Masquerade (V5) Dungeons & Dragons (2014 5e) The Dead Letter Society

When I'm not running games I'm...

creating historically-inspired cosplay, writing my own scenarios, playing the viola, or getting out in the garden.

I deal with rules issues by...

listening to the aims of the player and negotiating rules that might facilitate that, but shutting down anything that would be "edgelording" or run against the safety conversation we had prior to the start of the game.

My favorite trope is...

"Oh look! It's the consequences of our actions! Oh no!" :D

Rules are...

a framework in which we can be creative.
