About Alex
Greetings beautiful people! I'm Alex, a referee and a guide for the many systems and settings I know and like to run. What began with an obscure system at a friend's house has now grown into running games regularly in two different cities, organizing events in game shops and, sometimes, local fairs. A dear journey made possible with the help of other people in the world of on-line gaming, from Dimension 20 to the blogs of Matt Colville. I was always an avid fan of the hobby, but the chance to learn from other people and styles of play is something that always drives me to reach out for more. ✨ I love to run games of the odd and different settings. Especially in the horror genre, as I adore the grit and wits that a player is capable of bringing out in the time of need against the limitations of oneself. It might be a neighborhood recreated by a cult leader, a hospital eaten and distorted by a hole or even a zombie virus that transforms the body as people give in to their deepest desires. But I also like to take a break from such stories and see the cozy life of small mice in a tree or knights traveling across a wild realm. Grab a seat, roll some dice and live through impossible odds. I can’t wait to see you at one of the tables. 🎲

How Alex runs games
I thought about this way too long, it's one of those questions that are easy to answer, but that make your head spiral a lot. I don't know. I think my biggest strengths are horror and being transparent with information. Npcs are another strong point as of late, even without accents. I would really like to play under a game master like me to see what I do right and what I do wrong. This is another reason as to the why I would like any honest review no matter how short. I would say my style is really reactive to Players' action, even if I prepared locations, monsters or nice Npcs to meet... I like watching the Players stopping unprompted and deciding to tell scary stories to each other near a campfire. The Slice of life of these Characters in such different Environment/Situation. (damn I was throwing some time to check for the system that I have used and that's one hell of a list)

Rules are...
a way to express the world
Alex's ideal table
My ideal table is made up of players who like to push big red buttons, that are comfortable on having the ability to improvise at any moment and are engaged to the other players supporting each other. I do not expect for you to do voices, draw your character or even being focused on the game for 3 hours straight... But I really value respect at the table. That means showing up on time, staying off your phone, knowing what your character wants to do, how to share the spotlight and, more importantly than everything... We should remember that on the other side of the character there is a person with feelings and a past.
