About MisfitGM

Hey! I'm a lifelong fan of tabletop games and a Game Master who loves creating adventures where the players feel like they are genuinely part of the world. I've been playing and running tabletop RPGs for years, with D&D being my primary system. As a GM, I especially enjoy the parts of the game that happen between the dice rolls: developing characters, building a living world, creating memorable NPCs, and giving players the freedom to take an adventure in directions I never expected

How MisfitGM runs games

My favorite campaigns balance exploration, roleplay, and exciting combat. I enjoy putting meaningful choices in front of players without forcing them down a predetermined path. If the party decides to ignore the obvious plot hook and investigate the suspicious old man running the bakery instead, I'm the kind of GM who will probably have something waiting for them. I also love worldbuilding. I put a lot of thought into the places, cultures, religions, factions, and history that surround my players, but I try not to overwhelm them with a wall of lore. I want the world to reveal itself naturally through play, where players can discover something and think, “Wait... that was important?” Most importantly, I want my table to be a place where people can relax, be creative, make questionable decisions, and have a good time. I take the game seriously when it matters, but I'm not afraid to laugh when the barbarian inevitably tries to solve a delicate diplomatic situation by throwing a chair.

I deal with rules issues by...

Making a decision that makes sense for the story in the moment, and spending time out of game clarifying if what I did was right. If not, I would inform the party at the start of next session what the rulings would be for it for now.

I once ran a session...

For 13 hours straight, just to see if i could. It was Curse of Strahd ran as a one shot. My players started at level 10 and ran through the story. They all ended up dying at the werewolf hill encounter. They loved it, but man, I'll never do it again.

My games focus on...

Intense and Epic Boss battles, Political intrigue, mystery, character growth and personal stories

MisfitGM's ideal table

Any and all are welcome, I only ask that you come prepared to play the game. Players that find themselves constantly distracted to the point that it slows down the game would be better at another table. My table tends to explore the combat and roleplay aspects of the game in similar values, so if you are someone who only prefers one over the other, then you might want to look elsewhere. I will never deny someone the chance to play in my game though. So again, all are welcome
